I listen to a little bit of both, I guess? I especially like "Ready, Steady, Go" by L'Arc~En~Ciel, and "Beast of Blood" by Malice Mizer. "Fake Wings" is great, too! It's so pretty.

And I too must blame Kit for getting me started with Japanese music.

Anybody hear of Do As Infinity? I don't normally listen to much more Japanese music, but I like this group. They did the title song for the nintendo game Tales of Legendia--so pretty!

I listen to both!
All of the above on your list, apart from Little by Little; and then some heavier J-Rock like Dir en Grey, Malice Mizer, Moi Dix Mois.
I like the sort of inbetween stuff as well, like T.M Revolution, Miyavi and hide.
So..yes...a rather obsessive J-Rock/J-Pop fan!

I wasn't much into J-Rock or J-Pop before, but when I played Kingdom Hearts, I really started to like Utada Hikaru. Simple & Clean is a great song, and I absolutley adore Sanctuary now.

I listen to J-Pop.
Koda Kumi to be exact, I'm listening to her song "Selfish" right now and then it goes on to "Shake It".
The music on alot of the credits for video games I try and find in Japanese, and I love it more. "Silple and Clean"/"Hikari" is a real good song too.
I also love the ending songs to both Xenosaga ep. 1 & 2 as well.

WAI. J-pop! J-rock!
I love them both.
I like Utada Hikaru, Ayumi Hamasaki, Dir En Grey, Gackt, L'arc en ciel, Koda Kumi, Nami Tamaki, X-Japan, Malice Mizer ( I don't like Mana's new band that much ), Miayvi-channnn <3, T.M Revolution, Do as Infinity, Hyde. etc.
I don't like the ' bloody-scary' side of MM or DEG.
Wow. I'm really happy that there are this many Japanese music fans. It used to just be Kit, Theni and I.

Whoo! Another Kumi fan .
Atada and Ayumi are cool too. Thinking of J-pop and J-Rock, has anyone seen the show Hi Hi Puffy Ami-Yumi? Ami and Yumi are good singers too.

Yay!
There are quite a few J-Pop/J-Rock fans, aren't there?
Aw, you have a similar music taste to me - and you're right..Moi dix Mois are nowhere near as good as Malice Mizer.
(Are you a Gackt fan or a Klaha fan?)
I'm a Visual-Kei person, so I do like the 'scary' side of MM and Diru, along with weird bands like Phantasmagoria and Death Rabbits. (Who are all badly-named, very odd-looking J-Rock bands..)
I love the style of clothing that they have in J-Rock, where they use lots of weird frills, and lots of odd outfits. Although, you also get a good number of strange crossdressers (who are fantastic.. XD' )
And then totally crazy things.
Ah, for instance...
Kaoru's alien hat...
Which I think just..rocks.
Anyhow.
Always happy to talk about J-Rock. ^_^

I like visual kei as well, I just can't handle most of their videos. ( Obscure, I can't even taken the edited version ._. )
I think you are talking about Gothic Lolita Shadowstorm. I'm more GL then visual kei. Frills frills and little top hats. ^_^ But I love the fruits style too.
( Gackt all the way. <3 )

True true. I liked it when it first started. I don't even see it very much anymore.

Yo, I also like the J-pop/J-Rock genres (along with traditional Japanese music [you just gotta love the lute]). Recently, however, I haven't been listening to it. I really like Mr.Children, SMAP, T.M. Revolution, X-Japan, Do As Infinity, Two Mix, Ayumi Hamasaki, L'Arc~en~Ciel-to name a few ^^;;
