I've heard plenty good things about A History of Violence (I read reviews in that paper at work), and it's made me really want to see it! I love Viggo as well, and think the story is well-written (it's got a good plot), thus, am going to rent it right now! *runs off to Blockbuster*

I thought the ending was great. One of the best Silent scenes ever.

I saw the movie last month with my best firend. It was great, though the violence kind of scared me, but I thought the sex scences were kinda scary, esp. the one when they were on the stairs and he moons you. :0

I think this is one of the only Viggo movies I haven't seen, but I really want to. I'll put it on my list of movies to rent, right under The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.

saw it..sucked mayor time, there wasn't enough substance, I expected more, and I think Viggo's acting sucked big time

There are good reasons it's rated mature.. the faint of heart and stomach should not see this.... it is quite graphic though utterly well-done. Amazing cast and director.

I really want to see History of Violence, since I think Viggo is one of the best actors I know. But I had a question to the ones that already did see the movie: Is there alot of violence in the movie? Can you compare it to other movies..? (eg I've seen Troy and Alexander, of course that's a whole other kind of Violence but there was pretty much in it)

I agree with Arwen Arianna that the sex scenes can be left out :P

It's pretty violent.

I remeber reading the articles about it on viggo-works and they kept making a big deal about the sex scene with the stairs. .. it got annoying after a while, i wanted to scream SHUT UP!

I heard some good stuff about the movie, and this is why I decided it to watch it with my hostdad. So I went to the libary and picked it up, but, it said on the rated thingy that there were some intense sex scences in it, this is why I never watched it. First of all, my hostdad is married and has something against those scenes, and second, I don't want to see them either, maybe when I am older, b/c, like I said, I heard the movie is very good, and I really want to see it!

I´ve seen it and all depending on taste, it can range from great to awful
...the violence could possibly be compared to Quentin Tarantino movies..a little grafic
...I would consider the sex scenes in the range of `normal´- life
