I'm lost. But I don't think Boromir's all bad nor do I think he's all good. There was something about him that seemed a bit off to me anout him, but I am beginning to see him in a slightly different light. I suppose that it's mainy the fact that he lunges at Frodo. Which I still find slightly evil. Not at all completely. Only slightly.

That's right. The Ring was just too much for him.

Someone could say that it was under the nose of all the fellowship but if you read my other post in the other topic about Boromir you will understand wahy I believe that Boromir was somehow special in the matter of the Ring.

Yes, I think (given the chance) anyone might have fallen under the power of the Ring. And Boromir saw the opportunity and took it.

But I think his intentions were pure. He wanted to take it in order to save Minas Tirith and Gondor.

Which would have resulted in the downfall of Middle Earth for a second time. But I think that he did have the right motive at first, though his actions leading up to his death were questionable.

I still think it was questionable. I know he was under the influence of the ring, but I still have issues with trying to snatch it from Frodo. I don't think that in his heart Boromir was a bad person. Not at all. Must have melted the hearts of the Gondorian women (lol). But he, in my own opinion, was a bit proud. And I have certainly seen a different side of Boromir since I opened this topic that I had not seen before, for which I thank all who participated, but I still feel he was proud. Not ridiculously proud like Denethor, but then again, I don't think you can really compare Boromir to Denethor. Denethor was cruel, evil, self-centered and favouring of Boromir, and favouring always turns me purple with rage.

I will agree that he was proud. All of us are up to a point. He was a little bit more. Of course not like Denethor but he was. But being proud is totally different than being evil. And I do not believe that Boromir, Captain of Gondor, son of Denethor and Finduilas was an evil man. He did what he thought best for his people.

I think that some of you judge him only by the actions of the last days of his life. I do not think that this is fair. You must judge him as he was during all his life and not the last hours of him.

I know, I know. But we do not know his full life story. We only know what the book provides us. The movie didn't exactly explain anymore. His last hours were regrettable. Even he was remorseful for what he had done, and I don't condemn him for that. In fact I don't condemn him at all. It's more Denethor I hae an issue with. I HATE Denethor's guts. Pulls out bow and an arrow, aiming for Denethor's...
