I've found Lime Wire to be really good. A lot of bands on there I'd be hard pressed to find in a music store like HMV (for example). I'm a shameless downloader. I don't have the sort of funds to keep buying hundreds of cd's every week..so downloading is a good balance and I buy what I can when I can.
Oh I completely forgot about WinMX..but that got pretty rubbish before it shut down.
As for bit torrents..I find them too fidgety to work with...it's either that otr I'm a total dummy.

^Me too! If I have the money I buy CDs but since I'm broke and the music is very hard to find, I use LimeWire.

I stopped to use it cuase I really couldn´t find any good songs ... Torrents are wee bit harder but once your figure out how to handle them the world is yours to take. ^^

Anyhoo, recently my love for the genre has increased with the impending release of Slayer's new album.... *drools* Cult, the song on their site is awsome!

You say "when" as if it is inevitable?

Dude...about 80% of what I have download I already OWN on a little thing called vinyl
Why should I buy another copy of something on cd if I already own it?
And the remaining 20% is stuff I will get round to buying...when I can afford too.
I'm not putting myself out of pocket. Selfish?
Yes it is, and I'm completely unapolagetic for being so.

When iTunes put songs out in 320kbps VBR (instead of 128kbps or 192kbps CBR) I will consider buying downloads from there but I refuse to pay for downloads which aren't the highest quality available.

(Well Rammstein call themselves 'Tanz Metal' thats Dance Metal; but Industrial metal would be right too, because their heavily influenced [down to their R/cross logo] by Laibach, a true Industrial band [not metal]). I use Limewire, gee I've used all there is. And hey, as long as there are big companies undermining capitalism, and taking advantage of people and democracy- So Will I! I mean now that HMV actually has a nice range of European Metal, I'll get the odd cd, but yeah.
All metal is good, it's the band that's the deciding factor in the end. You can't not like Power Metal just because you don't like Blind Guardian (which is unbelievable...), I mean all bands, though they may fall under, again for example the Power metal genre, have a distinct sounds from each other. It kinda gets watered down when you move to death/black metal, and people who don't listen to metal regularily will complain that it all sounds the same, but obviously thats not the case when you actually LISTEN. Yah...I just talked to my friend today...he saw Dragonforce down in Toronto-I'm so jealous!!! How could I miss it!!! I'm gonna tell him to tell me next time, JEEZ!

LoL well now you know If you listen to the exact same song in 128 kbps and then 320 kbps you will notice a HUGE difference!

They are the ultimate industrial. Their lyrics and music is so true... Das Spiel Ist Aus is an excellent song. Their cover of 'Sympathy for the Devil', and Life is Life, and 'Jesus Christ Superstar' is pure awesomness. And God is God...yeah. (You think it's religious until you listen to it...)
