I'm about 30 pages into the Eye of the World. it drags a bit but it's pretty good thus far.

prepare for this: my friend's friend's uncle is Robert Jordan.

Keep reading! It gets better...

I've reserved "Knife of Dreams" from the library... so I'll be reading it when it comes it. *checks library's site* gah, item is still in transit.

That's kind of cool that your friend's friend's uncle is Robert Jordan...

:p

I've just borrowed "Knife of Dreams"!! :D So now I can have lots of fun as my brother and I fight over who gets to read it first.

It's rather odd, actually, since I've always until now read them before him (because he was reading a couple of books behind me.) and so he keeps on insisting that I read it first, since for him to read it first feels... odd. But I have stuff to read for school, so I think.... *coughs* sorry, I know you all must find this absolutely fascinating...

I'm nearly finished with Knife of Dreams. So far it's awesome! I especially like the Golden Crane chapter. Finally something from Nynaeve's perspective! It's kinda sad though, but I want say any more cause I don't want to spoil anyone who hasn't read it yet.
I'm trying to read this one kind of slow since the next book isn't coming out for a while. I'm gonna die not knowing what happens! I heard it wasn't comin out untill 2008! It's just too long. :'(

I loved Knife of Dreams! I thought it was so much better than Crossroads of Twilight. I finished the book a few weeks ago. I heard something like that about the 12th, too. I don't want to wait! :p

*tries not to give away any spoilers*
I liked the Golden Crane chapter, too! I'm a fan of all the Nyunaeve parts... :p
I thought Egwene was absolutely brilliant – 18-year-olds girls with power are. I was disappointed there weren’t more chapters about her! Elayne, as another 18-year-old girl with power was likewise amusing but it would have been better were less chapters on her and more with Egwene…
Tuon and Mat were hilarious. It was nice having something from Tuon’s perspective! I love how Mat keeps on fulfilling Seanchan customs without knowing them! Also loved Rand's very amusing encounters with Lews Therin.
I found the Perrin and Faile chapters almost painful – not because I dislike them, but because I felt for them both! If the chapters weren’t taunt with emotion, the characters were.
I don’t mind Berelain, now that she’s stopped flirting with Perrin. She’s become just another woman with power, and I enjoy reading about those.
I felt sorry for those who died. I just found those deaths sad.
*ends long rambling*

I was looking at early entries on Robert Jordan’s blog and he mentions that there was supposed to be a ‘gasp’ moment in the book. I could think of three, so I’m probably wrong. Does any one else know what this moment was supposed to be? Can you PM or something...?

Also... um...(shameless self-promotion here) I have the fanlisting for Nynaeve/Lan, so if anyone else is a fan please join! See link in my sig...

Ahh...I finally finished Knife of Dreams! I want the next book. Give me the next book.
I loved having chapters from Nyaeve and Tuon's perspectives. And Egwene is totally awesome. They really needed more of her. Elayne is better...execpt for the fact that she blames everything on Rand.
I think a *gasp* moment could have been the encounter with the "Daughter of the Nine Moons" and then her revealing about Lewis Therin.

I finished the first book a week ago. The Eye of the World... I believe... nice book but needs more action. the battle at the end wasn't epic enough. but then again, maybe that's just me.

Oh my gosh, I just joined and I was wondering if anyone else liked these books! I'm really glad there are some other Robert Jordan fans on this site. I've read all the books and I can't wait until the 12th comes out. I think I'll die if he doesn't get it out soon.

I really like Egwene too. She's one of my favorite characters now. At first I didn't like her at all, but now that she's matured a lot I really like her. She's so powerful and wise. But Nynaeve will always be my fave. I think it's because out of all the characters I'm most like her. I think it's the temper thing lol. I also like Lan, Mat, Suian, Moiraine, and Thom.

Lady Dark Moon, I didn't really think the first book needed more action, but I can see where you're coming from. You definitely need to keep reading. The other books have much more action.

I just started a wheel of time RPG site. The link is in my sig. If you like to RP please join.

I finally own all the books!!!!!!!!!!....well, except for the last one. And technically, I don't own TFoH and TCoS yet, but my mom bought them, though she's been trying to hide them from me, and that means they're either for me or for my sister, but they're probably for me, because I'm the bigger fan. So, I basically own them already.
Anyways, I loved Winter's Heart, since I finally got a chance to read it all the way through, but KoD, TFoH, and TCoS are still the best.....maybe because Mat's a prominent character in all three of them. He is definately the best character.
I g2g now, but....I will be back.
And Lady Dark Moon, that is really cool that your friend's-friend's-uncle is Robert Jordan.

I own all the books, well, technically my mom does, but they are in my room... oh, well thats what I get for living in the Library. lol. Anyhoo... I was jusst about to start a Robert Jordan-Wheel of Time thread, good thing I looked before I started it! lol!

I am on Fires of Heaven at the moment. Almost done! This is my first time reading it through. It's pretty cool, but long. I could really hit the characters some of the time. I think my favorite characters would be Siuan Sanche, Egwene, Perrin, Faile, Lanfear, and Moraine. I just can't choose really, but Siuan is just so strong... wow.

Lol...another fan. Yay!

Siuan is....really funny, in my opinion. She's not one of my favorite characters, but I just think she's hilarious....not as great as Mat, though.

Suian is awesome. And so manipulative. It's so cool. Obviously, I also love Mat. :P He is so funny, yet he can be really serious too. Egwene is my favorite of the "regular" girls. She is strong, and doesn't whine about things like Elayne does. I'm not that huge of a fan of Elayne. The Forsaken facinate me. Anyone else? My friend has this 'companion book' think to WoT that has the histories of the other ages and information about the Forsaken before they turned. I think it's really ironic that Rand's ancestors served Lanfear before she turned. (TSR)

Oh yea!!! Wheel of Time fans!!! I was wondering if anyone else here would like WoT. I've been in love with the series for like a year now, and I've read all the books. Nynaeve is the absolute coolest character! But Lan, Suian, Faile, Mat, and Birgitte are all close. I'm also fascinated with the Forsaken, Nurrantiel! I love how devious and manipulative they are. I always enjoy reading their chapters. I'd have to say that Graendal is probably my fave Forsaken.

Yes! Nother Forsaken facinator! I really don't know who my favorite is. Lanfear is so interesting. She has such a personality, because she loves Lewis Therin. So she isn't all bad. Mogehidan (gah, sorry, I can't spell) is neat, though I feel a bit sorry for her, being in the hands of Shaidar Haran. I like Demandred and Graendal as well.

It's Moghedien.

Honestly, I think Lanfear and Sammael were the coolest of the Forsaken. But that's just me.

How long ago did you all first get started on WoT? I first got started in 2003, when I joined an RPG based off of it, and then I found out a lot about it. The next summer, I was in the USA, so I had a chance to borrow all the books from the nearest library, which I did as soon as I could. Then, my mom bought Path of Daggers for me (Why she started with book 8 is beyond me, though), and on my birthday in May this last year, she gave me The Eye of the World, The Great Hunt, and The Dragon Reborn.

This summer, I bought books 4, 6, 9, 10, and 11. My mom already had bought books five and seven, and she gave me Crown of Swords around two months ago (it's my favorite one, too), and I'm expecting her to give me The Fires of Heaven for Christmas. If I hadn't known she had already bought them for me, I would've bought both of those this summer, too.
