It's okay to post OOC if it's not just starting a chat back and forth. If it's something you need to communicate about the RPG, it's okay.
Sorry for the delay, folks; the post limit is still being discussed, actually, and was holding this back. If you have something to say about 1 vs. 2 posts in 24 hours, pro or con, please PM the mod account soon because we need to know your thoughts. We were concerned about a) keeping track and b) keeping it easy-to-read so newcomers would feel welcome. We understand the need to interact, though.
Suddenly a voice rings out, sounding rather familiar to the adventurers.
"The world has changed, Lord Elrond. Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it. "
Lord Elrond the Eyebrowlord sighs, and looks grimly at everyone. "Your coming to us is as the footsteps of doom!" he tells the adventurers. "This world once belonged to all the free peoples, but our time is almost over. Yet something stirs in the East, but what it may be we do not know."
The disembodied voice of Galadriel grows and fills the chamber. "We preceive you are not spies, yet have no knowledge of why you have been brought from some other place in this, the hour of need. Will you leave us and the men of Westerness to their fates, and let us stand alone?"
Elrohir stands and begins chanting in a low voice:
Amroth beheld the fading shore Now low beyond the swell, And cursed the faithless ship that bore Him far from Nimrodel. From helm to sea they saw him leap, As arrow from the string, And dive into the water deep, As mew upon the wing. But from the West has come no word, And on the Hither Shore No tidings Elven-folk have heard Of Amroth evermore.
Some of Amroth's and Nimrodel's decendants are said to have married into the noble family of Dol Amroth in Southernmost Gondor. This may be so, but we also suspect that the two did come together and journeyed further East, beyond the borders of the Black Lands, past the edges of all charted lands. In time they may have met up with some of the survivors of the wreckage of Numenor, of which three groups were believed to have survived, and only two are known to us in Middle-Earth: the Dunedain of the North and South (Gondorians), and the Haradrim of the far South. The third convoy of ships sailed southwards, and in time we suspect may even have reached the far eastern shores of Middle-Earth, which few even of the Elven lords have heard of, even in myths. Of late, strange birds and other potents, the like of which has never been seen, have flown here from the East, bearing parchment upon their legs with only one word written in the long forgotten Audnaic: Numenor." Elrohir sits down, "At last!" whispers one, and shuts up.
Galadriel: A shadow and a threat has been growing in our minds.
Elrond: We must unite or we will fall. If you are not spies of these phantoms, prove it to us by leading an expedition into the far reaches of the East to find out the truth.
*silence fills the room, as the adventurers look at each other, remembering this is an uncarted and unexplored region. Boromir stands up to speak*

Melda was shocked at this revelation. She sat back, her mind whirling. They thought we were spies... she raised her head to look around at the others. There was mingled shock and excitement everywhere. She looked down again, her heart pounding. The lost Numenoreans! Mel couldn't help feeling excited but the thought of such a lengthy expedition scared her a little, though she would have been hard pressed to admit it. She tried to compose herself and listen to what Boromir was saying but the unanswered questions swirled in her head, blocking out everything else.

Idril's jaw dropped, her thoughts a bit scrambled. "But what about getting back home? Would they ever get back home? Would they be there forever? Are they missing back home or has time stopped....?" All this confused her, but excited her at the same time, and slowly she nodded to herself. She'd be willing to go... she waited to hear what Boromir would have to say. "Probably more negative comments, no doubt."

Anduril grinned, she couldn't help it. It made perfect sense, HE couldn't have load on his own peole wandering around during the war so his was sending them into uncharted land. This way they couldn't muck up the storys and therefore never get here. And to go somewhere no one had ever seen unfold before. That was a privalge she would never thought she would be offered.

And Riniel had thought they were here to help with the One Ring problem! In fact, what time was this? In any point, she realized, Frodo was already in Rivendell. That story could now play out.
As for her, she tried to guess what Elohir could be talking about. Should she help?

Thanks, folks! @e asked for you to PM us what you thought of the new rules, and you did. Many of you loved it, others didn't. Just as many of you loved it before and others didn't.
Thus, we're opening up ANOTHER RPG for those who want to have a slower RPG, and REMOVING the post limit on this one for you fast posters.
We're dividing this into two quests. If you intend to go explore the East and uncharted lands, the Lord Elrond will be providing escort for you. Others, who are curious what it'd be like to see the known Middle-Earth and perhaps embark on a ring quest will have their desires satisfied as well.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The Lord Elrond stood. Everyone else rose, and Elrohir invited all adventurers to please follow him as they had a long journey to prepare for, etc. The adventurers departed , leaving some elves, Boromir, some dwarves, Gandalf, and Frodo taking their seats. As they left, Elrond began to speak:
"Strangers from distant lands, friends of old, you were summoned here to answer the threat of Mordor....we must unite or we must fall..."
Now this was more like what they were expecting! Some of the Adventurers turned around, deciding to stay in the chamber...

[I'm finding this whole splitting the RP into two thing quite confusing, as good a idea as it is. For a start, how does the RP split?(asking from an RP'ers point of veiw, wouldn't it be better to have the choice placed straight to everyone so they can make their minds up?) I would PM this, but I think others might be a little confused too. Some clarification would be good ]

Ellethwen practically jumped out of her skin at the sound of that voice.
"I never thought it would be so scary..." she muttered, then started to think about what to do.
I don't know what to do...exploring Middle-earth would be the smart thing to do, but I've reda all of tolkien's Middle-earth books so much I know it up and down. It would be exciting to explore uncharted lands, but what if something we don't know about kills me? How would I ever get back home?
She felt like crying, but then heard Elrond speaking again.
She turned back towards the people sitting in a circle.

Lhunardaien decided to stay, to hear what Elrond had to say to the others. It sounded very interesting, what Elrond was saying, and it also sounded familiar in a strange way.. She looked around for one more moment, to see who was staying as well, and wandered back to her seat in the Council, wondering what was coming.

Ellethwen decided that it would be a better idea to explore Middle-earth, instead of uncharted lands. Wouldn't it be interesting, to be just like Meggie from Inkspell, visitng the Inkworld, a land she had always imagined? She wouldn't be seeing Lombrica and Argenta, but instead Middle-earth.
Ellethwen made up her mind, to stay in the lands she knew of.

Riniel's head jerked up when she heard Elrond's words. Then, she had not been wrong? By helping Frodo with the one ring, she had done as she should?
Half of her was relieved, but the other was worried. Remembering the night on Weathertop, she knew this world could be dangerous - and sad. She thought of Frodo, being cared fro somewhere. Even though she knew he would survive, it was awful to see him so near death.
But her choice was made almost instantly. I'm in Rivendell, she thought, amongst the companies of many I had only previously wished to meet! And now I have an invitation to become a part of their story.
She listened to see what Elrond would say next.

Luthien hesitated, not sure of what she should do. The thought of discovering what lay beyond the maps of Middle Earth was tantilizing, but she adored the already discovered lands so much! Overhearing Elegost's comment, she knew that he wanted to stay and search around M-E. Whatever she did, Luth realized that she wished to remain with those she knew.

FaZ, when he heard Elegost's opinion, decided to stay with him and his family. "Sticking together with best friends will be better for us" He said "I hope Gwen and Luthien are staying here too! And... fighting in the war will be a great adventure!" He sat down grinning. "Do you think we will be able to go to the Helm's Deep?"

[Thanks to all my "companions" on this mission who have continued our journey in your posts whilst I was away this week. ]
This whole story is ever so confusing, she thought, I do want to stay with my family in the safety of charted lands... but really how safe is it? We could get caught in a battle, or worse, not that Larael was really afraid.
Larael continued to think and finally decided that she would prefer to search Middle-Earth and perhaps become part of it's history too.
["Companions" feel free to tell me what I've missed. It'd be much appreciated!!"]

(I'm a bit lost now....I guess I'm staying with them then...)
Caunion stayed as some of the other travellers that he had only known by sight left. He was allowed to stay due to the grace of Boromir and Elrond. But he could tell that some of the elves thought he was a Southron or Easterling spy. For god's sakes, I'm not a spy!! Caunion thought angrily.
