Hey, thats true. Isn't it funny to think like that? I mean, someone could be a friend of mine in real life, and join here, but I would never know! :goofy:

The problem is, many girls who are fans of LotR are not very fanatic about it in real life. Most of my friends would never know I go on a fan site!

@Nauriel, we're pretty lax with our security, sad maybe but...and no, we often dont say eh, that is another Canadian stereotype...

I would actually disagree, I tend to use 'eh' a lot. My dad also uses another distinctly Canadian word, 'hoser'. Uusaly when my brother is being weird or funny lol.

I think that's just because of customs and junk. It was easier for my family to get into the States then get back to Canada.

Same here. In fact, only 1 does. Not because I puposely hide it, it just doesn't come up.

Why would Canadians say "eh" more than others? And what would others say instead of "eh"? Please enlighten a confused non-American...

Well, I might say to my sister, "Pretty cool birthday present, eh?" (and by the way, it's pronounced like the letter A) or "That sucks, eh?" Kinda like that. "Hoser" is used when someone is affectionately calling someone else a rascal, and a toque is a warm hat used in the winter, usually a knit hat.

Owh thanks Meldawen, I'm getting it now. I think some Americans use it too, and I might do it too actually...

it's so weird, the language barrier between Canada and the U.S., we are next door neighbours but we cant understand what the other is saying...especially with some of those accents the Americans have...like the ones from Louisiana...i can understand 3/4 of the words they say...*sighs*
