I thought it was quite good but nearly as good as some people were saying it was. It was a very interesting idea but I don't think it was that well done and it got very wierd towards the end.

I love this book. It's a very sad story. What would happen If I die and no one ever knows who did it? What would happen if I die and I can't get the chance to say good-bye? Those are questions that I always have in mind and in this book the autor reflects them through the girl.

Peter Jackson is said to do the movie of this book. I can't wait :bounce:

Originally, I hated it.

I don't agree with the concept of heaven, and I was quite anti-Abigail, too. I thought the story awful and depressing. However, I can say after many class discussions in Literature, and writting three drafts, and a final of an essay on it being a uplifting novel demonstrating the redemptive power of love, it's grown on me.

The only thing I really don't like is Susie's fling with Ray (and I made a big point about it in my essay... I had to cut it back... ) It's really, really well written - some of the language and the expression is ... impressive.

I didn't read any of your comments, for fear of spoilers, but I was clearing out my room again today, and I found that at the back of my bookshelf, so I think I shall read it soon ;)

I think it's worth reading, regardless of whether you like it or not... it's got some interesting ideas. :)

I haven't read it yet, mostly b/c my dad bought the audio book after he had eye surgery and was bored and he just got so depressed listening to it. But everyone I know who has read it said it's really good.

it really bugged me that she only came back to sleep with ray - i mean, surely there's more to life than sex. other than that, it was aright. i've read much better though.

Yes, I agree with that! It was... odd. And unnecessary, almost like, oooh, let's put a sex-scene in here without it having any relevance to the plot. It didn't really contribute anything whatsoever.
And it irritated me that it then impacted on Ray forming other relationships, and on his relationship with Ruth. I guess I saw it as being something that would have been hard to 'get over'...

I liked this book for the most part, but I agree about the part with Ray. It was just sort of strange... It was an incredible idea and a very interesting perspective overall as a book.

I hope PJ does an awesome job on the movie!!
