Rapheal looked at Rhavaniel slightly, then kept looking around again "nothing so far... i thought i heard something... but it turned out to be you walking through the leaves" he said simply, jumping down from the tree. His eyes turned back to their normal blue color.

Rhavaniel tapped her chin with a long finger "I'm sorry..." she murmred, sounding amused "I didn't realise you were so sensitive today."
Her rain matted hair was swept behind her pointed ears, as she gazed at him.

Rapheal closed his eyes, sighing softly "im not being sensitive today..." he said a bit irratated, but tryed to make it sound as if he wasnt, "im a vampire... my hearing is more sensitive than anything else..." he whispered.

She rolled her eyes, and gestured down herself "I'll ditto that... But still,"the half-elf let her voice trail off quietly, training her eyes to the dark tree's surrounding them. She picked at her glassy nails and smiled lazily, like a cat that had just been given the cream.

Rapheal's eyes still scaned the area around them, he never trusted anyone, after a minute or to he started picking out the dried blood from under his nails, thinking.

Nienna followed Halrohir, not wanting to give in that she was tired. she fought to keep her eyes open and the rian was freezing.

She patted Eonwe's neck and was rewarded with a snort.

"I know, you don't like rain." she whispered as she adjusted her saddle which was slipping to one side. what she would give for a roof right now!

her bones ached and her eyes wanted to shut on thier own accord. she pressed on behidn Halrohir, wondering if anyone back at the fire would notice that they had left.

she shrugged her cloak around her body as best as she could and pulled her hood back up with her free hand. this would be a long ride.

Fortunately for Nienna, Halrohir had plans that did not include riding all night. He simply had to reach a place known to the Dunedain, not close, but not unreasonably far. A short ride, away form the forest, revealed an outcrop of rock south of the trail. Turning here, and looking back to see Nienna close by, he plunged into the downs past the rocks, and rode a short way down a gully to an open space, delving back into the side of a hill.

"Here, Lady, is where we stop", he said, trying to be cheerful. "See, we can dismount here, and the horses may rest in some shelter. There is grass in the gully, for them. And look, shelter for us, as well". He showed Nienna, who had dismounted after him, where the overhang of the gully provided a dry space, and a fire pit or stones still had dry wood.

"The Dunedain use this as a waystop", he explained, as he unsaddled Morindal. "Our travels take us far, and though we are hardy folk, we still know enough to come out of the rain. The lower land of the gully shields the view, and the smoke, from unfriendly eyes. And with better rest, one travels better, as well."

Nienna looked on, as she also unsaddled Eonwe, and saw Halrohir kindled a small blaze in the rock. The light was faint, and only lit the small indent in the hill; nothing outside the gully could see them. And she saw the gear that he had packed - good sturdy cloth, looking warm and, best of all, dry. he smiled up at her from his task.

"Your path and mine go together, melima", Halrohir said, "and I shall see to your safety, and your comfort. I can only offer you a hard journey, but as easy as I can contrive. And who knows, what we shall find? But, you are not alone - not again. And I shall be with you, and yours, as well."

She smiled at Halrohir gratefully and walked over to the fire to warm her hands. she shed her wet cloak and sat down on a stone and looked around.

"Well you rangers certainly have good taste in the places you choose to rest."

she looked at Halrohir who was busy with getting things set up.

"You have no idea how much i missed you." she whispered, her eyes filled with sincerity and love.

He looked up at her and she saw that he thought the same.

she went to him and stayed his hands and held them in her own.

"Our paths were knit together by fate. and nothing can break that. your love is life to me, it is my truest longing and my deepest need. without it one moment, i don't know where i'd be."

her breath caught in her chest and she bent her head down, he was her life, and so many times had he saved her from certain death.

It was some time before Nienna and Halrohir became weary. The warmth of the fire and the quiet were invigorating, as well as each others' company. Halrohir had shown he had prepared to find Nienna in the wild, and brought food and gear for two, enough to last for some time with care.

"The rest of the night, and maybe into tomorrow, we can spend here", Halrohir explained as he added wood to the fire. "But as soon as we have light, I should like to see what signs might be read, that the rains have not ruined. I thought to head north and west, away from Imladris - that was where I was advised to start my search for you."

Halrohir sat closer to Nienna, a searching look to him. "Further plans I cannot make, for I do not know which way to proceed. For that, little one, I need your guidance. It is as you said, that our paths were knit together. You must find the end to this menace Ruthin poses, and I shall be there, to seek that end with you."

"Now, please, take your rest", he said, as Nienna's head drooped and then snapped alert. "You are weary, and no doubt cold and wet. Lay down here, and I shall watch." He took her in hand, and set her down with a heavy blanket, coarse but warm, and she watched him drowsily as he tended the fire, and stared off into the dark, watchful and lost in thought as the night wore on.

She propped herself up on one elbow and stared into the fire. she had to tell him.

"My parents found me in a cottage with my birth parents, they were both slain by wondering orcs. Then, the parents of Ruthin took me in and treated me like one of thier own. As i grew older Ruthin took to hating me more and more, he would play tricks on me and hurt me, physically and mentally."

She took a shuddering breath before continuing.

"When my parents got the whole family together for a meeting, my father told Ruthin and i that he had decided in his will to give the family inheritance to me because he did not trust Ruthin with it. Ruthin got angry and left that same day. about a week later, Orcs came and stormed Imladris, killing many; including my parents."

She wiped at a tear that ran out of her eye and sat cross legged.

"I found out that Ruthin had sent the orcs to murdur my parents. he was jealous that i had gotten the family inheritance instead fo him, he saw me as an intruder. so he has been searching for me and has been trying to kill me to get the inheritance."

She finally looked away from the fire at Halrohir.
