Eragon not that great. you are not missing out that much. Now, they are nothing compared to Narnia.
Narnia: GOLD!
Eragon: dust.

TrueNarnian, that was a little much.
obviously Star Gazer really wants to read Eragon, so you shouldn't put it down like that. opinions that practically tell people what they should read are best kept to one's self.
I'm sorry Star Gazer, if it makes you feel better i've been waiting for Eldest for about two months.

Yeah exactly. Plus, with a smaller list, you're more like to get exactly what you want. :]

we only get three christmas presents at my house, mainly because we don't have a super income, (i even have reduced lunch at school), and because of something else that i can't mention here.
we pretty much always ask for practical things, my brothers asked for new sports stuff this year; i asked for a MP3 player and some money to download.

Well everyone has their own opinions, as I am sure you do too. She never told SG not to read it, unless I'm blind. It's not very nice to stuff words down peoples' throats
And everyone has the right to express their views. That's what a forum is for.
I dislike Eragon too. But my friend lent me the book and I'm trying to get through it properly so that I can watch the movie with her.

Hmm well I can't say that the book is entirely bad.. it's really good descriptively; you really can visualize the story in your head as you read. I just don't like the plot very much, but it's really well written.

the book is boring in the beginning, like almost all books, but it gets better.

As far as I have heard, you either like it alot, or you hate it. It sounds really interesting to me, and I hope to go and see the movie... sometime... anyway, I was looking at facts about the movie on IMDB, and did you know that Sir Ian McKellen and Elijah Wood were considered for the roles of Brom and Eragon?
