What kind of hair do you prefer: Curly or Straight?
I prefer curly, but sadly, my hair is as straight as a board. It won't curl and if it does, it lasts for maybe five minutes.
What length: short or long?
I LOVE long hair! I'm finally growing mine back out again. It's down to my shoulder blades. I'm very happy.
if you could trade places with on actress or actor who would it be?
I would totally trade places with Jennifer Garner or Reese Witherspoon. I absolutely love both of them. Jenn is such a sweetheart!

Ehm.. straight because my hair is naturally wavy and sometimes curly. Curly hair is so much harder to manage, although it does have some benefits. I've always dreamed of having straight hair since I was a wee child.
What length: short or long?
Short. Not too short though. It's easier to manage once again, and I think it gives you such a refined look.
If you could trade places with one actress or actor who would it be?
Definitely with Liv Tyler, Kate Winslett, or Kiera Knightly. They seem to have such surreal lives, and I really look up to them as role models.

Curly. I find that you can do lots of stuff with it. As i have my hair permed. A lot of hair styles look really cute with curly hair. Also, you can straighten it whenever you want . Also, if you use product it helps tame the frizz on rainy days
What Length: short or long?
Shorter-- sometimes it makes it look healthier. but not to short just past the shoulders is nice
if you could trade places with on actress or actor who would it be?
Emma Watson-- she is ratheran extrodinary actress for her first set of movies. She's really got it down. Plus she is EXTREMELY pretty. (i like her curls) and she is surrounded by 2 hot British guys *swoons* Ooh and she lives in Oxford.
Another Topic that Just Popped into my head: you don't have to answer i was just wondering...
If you could curl up with a good book would you rather have a cup o' hot chocolate or a rather large bowl of Popcorn?
For me? Hot chocolate, its more-relaxing? and i just love that stuff!! As i just was reading with popcorn, popcorn ain't so bad! LOL. then i took a nap, but still popcorn is fun to eat-- Its so crispy!
And What book would you be reading?
Right now i am into Abarat but normally i LOVE reading Harry Potter!

If you could trade places with an actress who would it be?
....... Hmmmm, that's kinda of difficult. You know, I'd like to trade places with Katharine Hepburn for a day or two ---- y'know, go back in time before she died. I'd like to see how she lived, what her personality was like, how others worshiped her.
If you could curl up with a good book would you rather have a cup o' hot chocolate or a rather large bowl of Popcorn?
....Why can't it be both? If you eat popcorn, you're gonna need some beverage to wash it all down. Okay, now if I had an unlimited number of mugs of hot chocolate, then Hot chocolate! But otherwise, I'd like popcorn.
What book would you be reading?
The book that I would try to get through at that moment. Lol. I'm a horrible disciplinary reader nowadays if it isn't Harry Potter. Right now I'm reading, "The Little Prince".

If you could curl up with a good book would you rather have a cup o' hot chocolate or a rather large bowl of Popcorn?
If I was going to curl up with a book, I would probably choose hot chocolate right now since it's getting colder. I've almost lost my taste for coffee so hot chocolate has become my new comfort drink and has replaced coffee. I love popcorn too but it gets the pages of the book all greasy. I like popcorn more with a movie.
And What book would you be reading?
I would either be reading one of my Ted Dekker books like "Black", "Red", or "White" or any of the Harry Potter books. I love reading any type of book that has action and suspense. But it would really depend on my mood.

What kind of hair do you prefer: Curly or Straight?
My hair is straight and actually I like it this way. I know some people who have curly hair and hate it. However, sometimes I would like to have it a bit curly, but just for a day or so.
What Length: short or long?
Medium length. My hair reaches down till my chin and I'm pretty content with its length. I can also imagine to let it grow again one day, but I would never dare to cut it really short.
If you could trade places with on actress or actor who would it be?
Well, that's a difficult question. I think it would be Liv Tyler or Cate Blanchett, because they are both my favourite actresses.
If you could curl up with a good book would you rather have a cup o' hot chocolate or a rather large bowl of Popcorn?
Hot chocolate. Don't ask why, it's a spontaneous answer and I can't give you any reason. Maybe because it's pretty cold outside today...
And What book would you be reading?
Right now I'm reading "Illumination" by Terry McGarry. My absolute favourite book it LOTR, of cause. Besides, I wish to read Marion Zimmer Bradley's Avalon books quite soon, as I think these are the perfect books for long winter evenings...

Hot chocolate. I'm addicted to it... I've been drinking like three cups a day. Though tea would be equally acceptable.
What book would you be reading?
Lord of the Rings, of course! But The Silmarillion or the Hobbit would do, or the Lays of Beleriand... perhaps not Unfinished Tales, that's a bit heavy reading for a winter's day.

Popcorn all the way. Sugar-coated, toffee-flavoured goodness!
What book would you be reading?
Kiss the Girls, James Patterson I think. I found the series in my bookcase one morning...they just appeared..

Ooh, good books Aerwen.
I definetly would have hot chocolate. I love the stuff (hey, it's chocolate!) and it's getting colder now (ha, getting. It's supposed to snow 8-14 inches tonight) so I want something hot to drink.
The book though...can I just curl up by my bookcase? I would have so many different choices, and it would depend on my mood. If I was feeling a bit romantic and lazy, it would be something along the line of Pride and Prejudice or Lost Years of Merlin. If I was feeling more advenurous, probably something like The Scarlet Pimpernel. And if I wasn't feeling any of those, it'd probably be Lord of the Rings or a mystery book. Though I want to get Little Women again from the library and reread it (it's been forever since I've read that!) and Uncle Tom's Cabin just because we watched the movie in history and it looks interesting.
Whew! That was a lot to type!

Everyone is very happy that Kit is happy with the conversation going on in the Gentlewomen's Society. ^^
Here's some NEW questions to discuss, feel free to mix and compare answers, inquire on how you would feel, what you would do --- would it be the best option, worst option?
This is a slightly more important and deep topic, please re-read your post each time so that you do not offend anyone, draw attention or speak harshly about a certain aspect of the subject.
You are a woman in 1692, living in Salem, Massachusetts. You are married to a farmer who leads a stable life. You and your husband have been married for ten years, have four children, three girls, one boy. You, your husband, and your four children go to church every Sunday. Suddenly, you are accused of witchcraft, and there is talk that the deputy governor is going around with warrants arresting women who are accused.
What do you do?
1) Get out of town!
2) Accuse someone else.
3) Quick, get pregnant!
4) Confess, even if you aren't guilty.
5) Plead that you're innocent and stand trial.
6) Refuse to be tried and face immediate consequences.
Discuss away!

That's really interesting, Kit. I remember doing this in history earlier this year, it'll be intriguing to see what all the Gentlewomen think.
My Thoughts:
Personally, I think I would be facing a bit of a moral dilemma here. Obviously, it's wrong to accuse people of being witches and even more wrong to burn them, but it would be hard for me to decide whether it was wrong to run away. Because then my husband and kids might face the consequences, and I don't think I could live with that. Especially considering daughters, who could also be accused depending on their ages.
So out of those six options, I would maybe do #1, but definetely not #2. I don't really understand #3 - did being pregnant somehow make you not a witch? #4 seems a little pointless, but I can see myself doing #5 out of fear for my kids, particularly daughters who might also be accused. #6, again, seems a little pointless - it seems to me that refusing to be tried would incriminate me further.
*Reads over post* Okay, those are my thoughts

1) Get out of town!
I personally think that this would be the best decision. I would also bring my family with me so that we could all escape the persecution. This would also be the safest decision.
2) Accuse someone else.
I would never accuse someone else because that would be just as bad as someone accusing me. I could never live with the fact that I accused someone else and they ended up getting tried and suffering because of it. I would never put the blame on someone else.
3) Quick, get pregnant!
I think that this would be a smart choice, but I'm not entirely sure it would save you from consequences. Would the others persecuters not try you because you are with child? They might think that it's morraly wrong to kill someone who is with child because it is killing two people instead of one. However, if this would save you from a horrible fate, I would definately get pregnant.
4) Confess, even if you aren't guilty.
I would not confess because it would mean that I would suffer the consequences anyway. It would not save me from a terrible fate and would make me a liar. I would not give into something as ridiculous as a witch trial just to save myself. But I might do it if I had no other choice.
5) Plead that you're innocent and stand trial.
I could see myself doing this because I know that I am innocent and would hope that a trial would set things straight. I would also do this in hopes of saving my family.
6) Refuse to be tried and face immediate consequences.
I don't think I would be bold enough to do this. I thin kthat refusing would get me into even more trouble and get my family into trouble as well. I would not resort to this.
great topic Kit! i love learning about the salem witch trials.
