I really don't have any celebrity idols because most of them would not make a good role model. Even though characters in books aren't real, they tend to have better morals and qualities that make them more like a role model.

I feel sorry for people who have chosen certain celebs for role models, like Jessica Simpson or Brad Pitt. We need more People like James Cavizel! He refused to do a "scene" with Jennifer Lopez because it would be unfaithful to his wife.

thats neat...and i don't really feel sorry for people who idolize any actor or actress that does bad things, we all do bad things, and often the media make things seem worse than they actually are...i do respect Jessica Simpson, and i like some of her qualities but i dont idolize her, i dont read everything about her etc.

I personally don't have any celebrity idols... there are certain actors, authors, etc that I look up to as role models, but I respect them for what they do. I don't idolize them.

My only "idol" is Jesus Christ. He is my example, the only perfect being.
Real people I look up to and admire?... Can't think of even one right now. Ummm... there has to be at least one... no, can't think of any real life people.
Characters, that's easier. Frodo, Galadriel, Aragorn, Sam. Frodo especially. Over the nearly five years that I've been a LotR fan, he has been a constant companion and encouragement to me.

I don't have any celebrity idols as well... they aren't good role models.
EDIT
I just read the topic for this discussion, so i'll add to my post.
I really don't have any fictional role models, I just admire people I know in real life such as friends and family.

Celebrities are terrible role models. I certainly don't have any of them!

Most of my role models are authors, especially Tolkien, and also C.S. Lewis. As for fictional role models, there are too many to name. Most are from LotR though- Arwen, Aragorn, Galadriel, Frodo, Sam, etc.

Hmm I forgot about writers! As a writer, I deffinitely have Christopher Paolini, Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Tamora Peirce, David Eddings and Brian Jaques as role models. But I don't really know enough about them on a personal or moral level to really judge if they are role models.
EDIT: I forgot to add before: My dad and mum ^_^
They're both exactly the kind of people I want to become.

Does Yoda count? Yoda. He rocks so hard. Can't think of anyone else...it sounds bad, but I don't want to be like my parents. I want to be how they are personality wise, but I want to see the world and I'd kill myself before I got stuck with a boring job working in some office or something...
