Oooh Yes! I agree! I think they were definitely influential women of their time! I love Boadicea's tale, it's so tragic, but she was so brave!! Yay for brave and strong women everywhere!!!
TN, just go back a few pages, suprisingly the topics don't change that much. I thought they would be hard to follow, but they're not.

Boadicea rules! Literally haha. I'm reading a novel about her [right, and I've managed to read 100 pages in 2 weeks] right now though I should be doing ... other stuff ... and I really really admire that woman.

I've heard of Queen Boadicea, but I don't actually know her story. Maybe someone could fill me in?
As for Queen Elizabeth I, I know all about her! She was one of England best rulers, and she's definitely a model of the kind of leader I want to be.

She was a Celtic queen in 1st Century (I think) and led a revolt against Romans. A bloodthirsty and overall awesome woman XD

Ya know, I think I've studied her in World History class, I'm surprised I was unable to remember her. She sounds like an amazing woman, despite her bloodthirsty tendencies.

 Actually she was quite a nice lass, not as violent as I'd described her.
Dumb we've never really mentioned Celts and History. ;_;

Well, I'm not sure where our current discussion orginated, but we are currently talking about Queen Elizabeth I and Queen Boadecia.
As Sida said, you can always check the last few pages to find out what we're talking about.

I see many of you don't know and aren't really interested in Boadicea. Well, I think you should be, because history is an amazing thing. I know this sounds silly, but I really do think it's important. Because she is an inspiration to all!
So I did a little research, ah, google, what a wonderful place. (To get a proper account)
So, Boadicea was married to the King of Iceni, sadly he died during 60 AD. He left his "fortune" to his daughters and his wife, as well as the Roman Emperor. The Roman emperor annexed Iceni and then pillaged all of their territory. He even raped Boadicea's daughters and flogged Boadicea. She later led a rebellion against Rome.
Before battle "Boadicea and her daughters drove round in her chariot to all her tribes before the battle, exhorting them to be brave. She cried that she was descended from mighty men but she was fighting as an ordinary person for her lost freedom, her bruised body and outraged daughters. Perhaps as taunt to the men in her ranks, it is said that she asked them to consider: 'Win the battle or perish: that is what I, a woman will do; you men can live on in slavery if that's what you want.'" That's so awesome! It's like ancient Girl Power!
She continued to rid them from their shores, however, eventually, all good must end, right? In a battle later on, when the Romans had the upperhand, instead of risking being captured and taken alive, she drank poison.
She's such a cool person, now my account was very brief, and I urge everyone else to do further research, because she's such a cool person.

I'm reading a book about her, as I mentioned some posts above...
Boudica by Manda Scott. I suck at giving summaries but it's tetralogy I think and it describes, well, everything. Slightly complex book as having english as my 2nd language I find myself enchanted by the dictionary
