Hear, hear.
We have to endure pains during giving birth and menstrual pain, and we're not considered the stronger sex?

its stupid! we are scientifically mentally and physically able to bear more pain and yet, we're the "weaker" sex! it bothers me greatly!

I would like to see a guy have a period. I would like to see a guy have a baby and I would like to see a guy have all of the stress we do! They would never be able to survive in this world if it weren't for us ladies. [/rant]

While women have our own set of problems, so do men I'm sure. As women, it's easier for us to feel oppressed and mistreated. But men probably feel the same way.

Well, think about it. If one or more of the Fellowship of the Ring was/were a girl/girls...Could you imagine Boromir PMS-ing or something? And it's a lot harder for girls to, um...go to the bathroom. What would the Fellowship do if they had to go in the middle of the Wilderness???

Yes, I think the main reasons women were less adventrous in the past are...
1. Going to the bathroom. Come on, that is NOT easy in the middle of nowhere.
2. Periods. Also not easay ot deal with if you're moving around in more than one place. (I like the ancient Israelites' way of dealing with your Period: women during their 'week' got to live outside of the normal camp in a seperate camp and didn't have to work for as long as it continued, and then went back to regular life. )
But as for today's women? I definitely think they have the chance to be more independent and more intelligent. But...especially in my high school...I don't see that happening. Girls shed all former intelligence at the beginning of puberty and decide to become ditzy airheads. I know this because many of my smart, fun friends went through this transformation.
Now in high school, it's the same way, and they are also incredibly dependent on guys. The guys I know pretty much bash the other gender quite openly and often, while girls just giggle and grab a boyfriend. In the mean time, smart, independent girls get singled out for avoidance. I remember telling a guyfirend how much I hate shopping, him agreeing and laughing, and then suddenly stopping. "Wait. You're a girl. You're supposed to like shopping." Yeah, and I'm supposed to be brainless and fashion-obsessed, I thought. Which apparently, by his choice in girlfriends, he agrees with.
I do think, overall, men are the stronger-physical sex and girls are the stronger-emotional sex. But we're all human, and we can't fall into extreme stereoytpes. Not to mention we're both equally intelligent, when given a chance - and when we take the chance.

I'd go and blame media for that. Hollywood, pop stars, corny movies ... I'm probably biased cause I like neither of those. XD I lost a good friend of my because of this transformation and I can't really have a conversation with any of the girls in my class - tehy're either deep down in this stage or too childlish to be able to talk normally... I usually hang out with the latter.

Lol. It's okay. Maybe they'll show the documentary again. I'd love to learn more about her.
