true enough, some "popular" girls are very nice. I know a few that are really kind and sweet.

i like how my friend put it, everyone knows your name, wether its for something good, or bad, if thats the case, then i was popular, why becuase everyone kneew my name, how they knew my name, im not sure...

I think there are many ays someone can be popular. And then it goes to a deeper level then who is really popular and for what reasons? Therefore, I don't really think there is a specific "popular" crowd since the definition is too general. You can be ppular for many different things.

What really makes popular girls popular I think are two things: one, being a hot bimbo, and two, having a great, outgoing, friendly personality and a really kind disposition. I have a good friend who is really popular at school, but she isn't super 'airhead hot' at all. She's just nice, funny, outgoing, and tries to include everyone. That might sound cheesy, but it's true.

Another thing: my grandfather (i call him Abuelo) alwyas says, "If you want to meet someone who likes reading books, go to a library." So if you want someone really kind adn caring and nice to be attracted to you, BE attractive that way. If you dress badly to get guys' attention, you will get hte attention of... bad guys. But if you're nice, kind, caring, ect, that kind of guy will be attracted to you.

Okay... rant over... no more pearls of wisdom coming from over here! *hides*

i've found that the "popular" girls(in the normal sense) are stupid, often failing they're courses and making bad decisions, more than half dont care how they dress, and the only reason they dont come to school in barely there bikinis is the weather and the school dress code.

That's true - I knew one popular cheerleader, who apart being somewhat silly, flirty, annoying, etc., was pretty nice and got good grades. I had a high opinion of her - until she told me that her dream in life was to be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. For those of you who haven't heard of the American Football team's infamous cheerleaders, they were barely-there clothes and are...well, they're the ones whos jumping around attracts the most guys' attention...
Why? She seemed smart and nice enough...what went wrong?

I definately agree with that. I think it really depends on how you are raised. If your parents raise you to be kind to others, then you will most likely stay kind to others. But if you are raised to make fun of others and other things along those lines, then I think you're more likely to end up like a "hot bimbo" as Snowbird said.

yay, i agree, if your parents are competitive, then their kids are going to be competitive. Thats the only example i could come up with.

what i meant by how your raised is, often kids with divorced parents are troubled9if any of your parents are divorced, you've turned out awesome), and kids with parents that dont care what they do(drugs, alcohol before the drinking age etc.)

I disagree . I don't believe in judging other girls by what they want to be when they grow up. I mean, it's their own personal dreams, and I respect that. I wouldn't want other people looking at me and telling me being a doctor is stupid or worthless or a waste of my time.

I sort of agree with Kit, a person's dream is their own. I've been told all the time that English teachers are stupid and boring and horrid, but I still want to become one. And perhaps this girl just deeply admires cheerleading, and is partial to the Dallas Cowboys. *shrug*
