Shamíra allowed her party to attack them men whilst she took a smaller group and followed the women and children, killing them as she passed.
"No, please don't!" screamed one woman, cradling her child.
Shamíra held her hand up for her troops to halt. The women fell silent, as did her troops. Leaping adeptly from her mount, she landed before the woman who held a baby in her arms. Snatching the child from the woman, she tossed it to the orcs behind her who stared at it in disbelief and hatred.
"Nooo!" screamed the woman once more. "Don't harm her, I beg of you! She is my only child."
"And she will serve Lord Sauron." cackled Shamíra. "Surrender your children, all of you, and they shall be spared."
Sobbing and kissing their children good-bye, the mothers reluctantly handed their children over. Shamíra loaded them into a large cart and took a horse to drive it. Then, drawing her sword, she and the orcs killed the women.
"Why did we let the human rats live?" snarled one of the orcs.
"Lord Sauron may have use of them." Shamíra said sharply. "You remember your place, orc. I am General here."
"But you said he wanted every one of them dead!" protested the orc.
"So I did." Shamíra said, recalling her words. "In that case, slaughter them all. But spare that one child. The girl-child."
The orc smiled cruelly, and threw the cart door open. Pulling them out one by one, they slaughtered each child until the grey cobblestones turned crimson with the shed blood of the children and their mothers.
The Moriquendi smiled as she inhaled deeply, the tangy, salty scent rushing to meet her nose.

Shamíra whirled around. "What do you think you're doing?" she demanded of the gaping Senqwa. "Standing there with your mouth hanging open like a fish while there's a battle to be fought!" she snarled. She followed Senqwa's gaze.
"Perhaps I did not make myself clear." she said coldly.

Amarthiel strode through the war torn city upon Durion, her eyes gleaming with malice. The stench of spilled blood reached her nostrils, and she took delight at the scent, relishing the corpses of her enemies. A soft whimper from the shadows drew her attention and she swiftly dismounted the dark steed, her hand on the hilt of her dagger as she moved toward the sound. A slow smile spread across her lips as she saw a young girl cowering in the shadows cradling an infant. The girl looked up at her with large blue eyes, her cheeks stained with tears.

"Where's momma?" she whimpered.

"Your mother can't be with you now." Amarthiel slowly purred, extending her hand. "Would you like to join her?"

The girl continued to stare at her, her tear-stained face filled with fear.

"A daughter should not be separated from her mother." she replied, kneeling so that she was eye level with the girl. "Come, love. Let me take you to her."

The girl slowly nodded as she took the Moriquendi's hand, letting her lead her from the shadows. Suddenly a group of orcs appeared, their eyes studying the girl hungrily-imagining what a tasty meal she would make. "Take this little one to her mother." she replied coolly as she took the infant from the girl's arms. The girl gazed up at the Moriquendi in fear. "No!" she cried as the orcs grabbed her, her eyes screaming with fear, her wide orbs accusing her of betrayal. Amarthiel glanced down upon the child, her eyes nonchalant. "Don't worry darling. You will be with your mother soon, just as I promised." she replied as she turned her back as the orcs impaled the child, leaving her crumpled body on the gray pavement, her glazed eyes staring at the heavens above as a trickle of blood flowed from her mouth. Amarthiel glanced down at the infant in her arms. The babe looked at her with large blue eyes, a small pout on his lips. Had she been any other woman, her heart would have melted at the sight of the innocent life in her arms. But she was not an ordinary woman. For her, love had died long ago, leaving her cold and ruthless, impervious to all other emotions except anger and hatred.

"What of the babe?" an orc asked as it approached her, licking his lips in hunger.

Amarthiel eyed him coldly as she handed him the child. "Do what you will with it. Just remove it from my sight." she replied as turned away. The orc howled with glee as it slew the infant, ready to claim its meal.

"Leave it." Amarthiel called behind her.

"But-"

"Did you not hear me? I told you to leave it!" she cried as she turned on her heel and wrapped a hand around the creature's neck, raising it slightly off the ground. "Leave them for the worms. There is more work to be done. Sauron's wrath shall be terrible if we fail him. You can claim your prize from him...if you survive." Amarthiel remarked coolly as she shoved the orc to the ground. With that she turned from the company and swiftly remounted her steed and raced through the city, searching for any survivors.

Shamíra paused in midstep, generally shocked by the question. "What buisness is it of yours?" she snarled. A fear spread through her. What had possessed her to spare the child at any rate? She called upon the contentedness that had spread through her as she slew the human women and banished the thought. "Should she fail at her task, she will join her mother." she laughed coolly. "As for the raising of the child, she will be given to one of the Moriquendi, Amarthiel perhaps." she said, snatching the child from the Uruk. She mounted Hiruk and arrived just in time to see the child slain. She laughed with a twisted mirth and drew up alongside Amarthiel. "This child will be a recruit and I am in need of one of our kind to raise it. I ask this of you because I believe you are capable of it." she said simply, thrusting the child into Amarthiel's arms. "Now come, we've one more level to destroy." she said.

Senqwa turned around not answering Shamira. she watched her throw the child at Amthriel. Senqwa sighed. she was going to make sure that the child would get love.....no one would stop her either.

Amarthiel glanced down at the infant that was thrust into her arms, her lavender eyes impassively studying the girl. "You will be strong." she whispered, as she stroked the child's cheek. She raised her head then and saw Senqwa watching her. Her eyes narrowed at the sight of the other woman, mistrust filling her being. With that she walked up to the mortal woman, her lavender eyes as hard as steel. "The child belongs to Lord Sauron now. It will do you well to remember that." she hissed as she walked away.

Urglaz sat in the central part of the camp, next to the Harad chiefs. From there they were essentially co-ordinating the operation for the Witch King. Messengers were despatched to order a complete retreat from the first level to minimize casualties and to starve the city.

Xoroku stopped in her tracks to examine the scene - the burning homes, the crimson-red streets and the slaughtering going on before her very eyes. Children screamed as they met their end, their cries being carried upon the chilly wind. A sort of pleasure ran through her - an evil redemption - it was certainly music to Xoroku's ears.

She overturned a barrel of oil and threw down a burning torch upon it just as a group of women and children ran through. The fire licked their bodies and sent them crumbling to the ground just like the ruins of the city and their screams of agony were quickly silenced.

Xoroku noticed Amarthiel carrying a small infant close to her body before slaughtering a nearby Gondorian and having no more regrets. Faramir was safe now anyway - at least he was out of the war.

"Allow me to release you from your fleshy prison," Xoroku hissed as she sliced the neck of a red-haired woman and returned her baby to the hungry group of Orcs.

The infant's wailing drew Amarthiel's attention to it once more. Cursing under her breath, she stormed through the city, looking for something to feed the infant. Miraculously finding a somewhat untouched abode, she strode to the house and kicked down the door. Entering the home she saw a woman and her child huddled together. "Give me something for the child, or I will slit your throats." she hissed menacingly. The mother gazed up at her in fear.

"Please. Do not hurt my family. They are all I have left." she pleaded, frozen in her spot. Amarthiel slapped her across her face, not caring as the children gasped in horror.

"Do as I say, whelp, or your children will be the first to feel my fury." she replied as the screams of the infant intensified. Amarthiel glanced down at the child, the infant’s screams grating on her nerves, further taxing her already thinned patience.

The woman painfully scrambled to her feet, giving Amarthiel the last of the milk. The Moriquendi quickly snatched the offering from her hand. Just then a group of orcs burst into the abode, their eyes glittering with malice. "Slay them all." Amarthiel ordered behind her as she strode out of the home.

"You promised!" the woman hollered in fear. Amarthiel turned briefly gazing upon the woman and her children. "Look at it this way," she remarked coldly. "At least you will be together for an eternity." With that she turned her back as the orcs surrounded the family, slaying them Their screams silenced as their crimson blood stained the floor.

Outside of the home, Amarthiel raised the bottle of milk to the infant's lips-trying to control her mounting frustration. She was a warrior, not a babysitter-and by far not a mother. "You are nothing but trouble." she hissed, her lavender eyes hard. "Why Shamíra spared you, I'll never know. Why I am still caring for you, I know not. But you had better not make us regret it."

The forces were not pulling back. Urglaz dispatched more messengers with the orders to retreat with the loot.

Senqwa's rage was high she slid down off the wall she was on and killed as many men as she could. she was angry about her life, that child. the situation she couldn't get out of. these little random angry bursts were getting more frequent. she felt evil seep in even more.

(I'm a bit confused as to the direction you're going, Witch King.)

Shamíra wiped the blood from her sword on one of her victim's cheeks as he gazed in terror up at her.
"Relish the sensation of the blood of your countrymen seeping into your pores." she laughd cruelly and waited for him to die his slow, painful death. Whirling her dark stallion about, she turned back to find Amarthiel and the child.
"You understand, then, that this child is to recieve no love? It will mainly raise itself. You will train it and provide it with adequate nourishment. You will tell it nothing of what occured here this day." she said, glancing at Amarthiel, fearing that some light might be passed to the infant. "And one last thing; do not allow Senqwa near the child. Whilst she has done nothing of great proportions to deserve my wrath, she and the other Gondorian recruits might have...relapses, shall we say. And we both know well enough how Lord Sauron deals with...relapses." she said coolly.
