Doesn't ironing your hair damage the hair though? I mean, I've heard that you're not really meant to use them to often or for too long. My hair is straight. I wouldn't mind it being a little curly, but I wouldn't want to damage my hair for the sake of curls.

Some people do to straighten their hair. I never have. I just using my straightening iron.
^It's not as bad as they say. Use conditioner and you'll be fine. I just wouldn't advise going overboard and doing it every day. I know some people that have been doing it every day for like, eight years, and it's starting to take a toll on their hair.

You buy heat protector to put in it. Then you're good.

I think it damages certain types of hair. Some people I know can curl or straighten their hair almost every day, and it does no damage at all. Other people (like me), have hair that can be damaged by curling or straighting irons. My unfortunate hair is neither wavy/curly nor straight... it is just awkwardly in the middle

I IRONED my shirt today. I was so happy that it actually came out ok!

*sigh* People w/ straight hair always want curl their hair and people with curly hair always want to straighten their hair...At least, that's what it seems like to me.
It's really weird reading "iron your hair." JF's right. The natural instinct is to imagine people with their heads flat on ironing boards!

*Blink* I live in Canada and that expression is used here...I know some people that actually do use an actual iron, though. It's really weird to watch.

I straigten (or 'iron') my hair sometimes, usually every other day during the week. But I have a special conditioner I use that's supposed to protect my hair against heat. *shrugs* My hair isn't really curly...it's messy and wavy and frizzy. I would prefer to have curls than for it to be dead straight, but straightening hair is juist so much easier than getting good curls. Plus, I'm already arguing with my inner tomboy for spending the amount of time on my hair that I do.

^My hair is curly and frizzy and takes forever to straighten. I would love to have perfectly straight hair...

Well, I've got straight hair in general, but as soon as it rains outside it gets curly and fizzy. I can't do anything about it. My hair simply does what it wants then.

~My mom used to Iron her hair. in the early 70's when she was in high school. She did it to get it streight. "it was the style" She had long hair and she put it up on the ironing board and ironed it like it was clothes
