"No!" shouted Elizabeth. "Bail, get the water out - Will, furl the sails, I said! She'll go down unless we get them up!"
Leaping down from the tiller she grasped a few ropes herself, ignoring the bursts of pain in her wrist. "A raft won't help us now!" The phrase reminded her of a certain Captain who claimed to have lashed togetehr sea turtles, and Elizabeth glared out to open sea. "I am going to kill that pirate!"

Jack kept rowing, but at a slower and steadier pace. His lips dropped low along with his eyebrows. Something felt strange underneath the waters. The waves rolled slowly against the boat. The air became damp and everything went into awkward silence.

"Sorry, Elizabeth!" Will shouted out angrily. He didn't mean to unfurl the sails more, but his mind was so caught up in the moment, he couldn't think straight.
Focusing back on what was important, he furled the sails as fast as he could, "Elizabeth, how is this going to stop the kraken from attacking? This is nonsense!"
Stopping what he was doing, Will unsheathed his sword and sliced one of the tips of the kraken's tentacles off.

"I know how to sail a ship!" screeched Elizabeth, but her voice was lost in the howl of the wind. Her fingers tightened around the tiller as tentacles crept up the side of the ship. In all the books she'd read, there had never been mention of how one escaped a Kraken.
Likely because there wasn't a way to.

Emily buried her face into her mother's side. We're going to die... was all she could think. Victoria was in a state of panic and filled to bursting with anger. "Elizabeth, Will's right! We can't just stay here and risk..."
But Victoria didn't finish her sentence.
With an earsplitting crack, everyone turned around to see a large tentacle curling around the ship and trying to break it in two...
...and the worst part was that it was succeeding.

"Oh god..." Will said under his breath as he witnessed the kraken's strong tentacles begin to destroy the ship. If they did not try to escape, they would all lose their lives....that was a fact.
"Elizabeth! Take Victoria and her family to safety, now! Use the barrels!" Will shouted as he approached the larger than life tentacle with nervousness. "Hurry! There's not much time! Go!"

This struck Elizabeth as patently ridiculous and unlikely to work - at best. At worst it would get them killed faster than they were already likely to be. She didn't reply.
Though if she thought about it...some live bait might be nice...and there was a captain belowdecks who was conveniently position to act as such, being unconscious.
"Get Grey up here!" she shrieked at him, maneuvering the tiller. "Quick!"

For a moment everyone seemed to stand and stare before heading down below deck to haul the unconcious captain's body up. With a group effort, and very much struggling, they managed to get Grey's body up on the main deck.
