I would agree that Into the West grows on you... as does Use Well the Days. The first time I heard Into the West, I was being hurried out of the theater by my mom and I wasn't seeing very well because my eyes were burning from crying so hard ( ) but even then it was beautiful and haunting. Into the West is one of my all-time favorite songs. However... I do not like Annie Lennox's voice at all. I've become more used to it, and now I don't mind it. But in the beginning, I couldn't bear it. The first time I heard Use Well the Days, I was flinching and wishing that someone, anyone, else had sung that song! But now I'm a lot more accustomed to it, so I don't mind.

I have to disagree with you. I think her voice is so - powerful and nice. beautiful. I dont understand people who say she sounds like a man! o.0

I personaly think that she did a wonderful job, I think she has a very nice voice and did admirably. But I can see where you would think that she might be annoying

Bowandarrow, have you ever heard of the Eurythmics? Anne Lennox was the lead female singer in the 80's. If you get a chance, listen to her sing "Sweet Dreams " when she was the lead vocalist. By the way did you know that Simon Cowell of American Idol is her agent?

I like into the west. maybe it would have been better if someone else had done it, but shes ok methinks. Better than some.

I lurv the song! The lyrics are so powerful, and I think she was a great choice for the song. To me it gave off that Galadriel feel to it... but that's just me.

From the first time I heard the song, I was so entranced by the beauty of the music and the lyrics that I didn't have much of my soul left to critique the singer. Now that I've listened to it a billion times, I agree, Annie's voice is a bit rough. But I don't mind that much.

Into the West is one of my favorite songs! Annie Lennox has a very special voice, a bit sad which suits perfectly by the song and The Return Of The King. I listen the song very often and every time I listen to it, I think it becomes more beautiful. It has something special ...
Annie did a good job!
I also have to say I love the lyrics to! It is a little story, very very nice!
