Indeed it is. I wish I was more in pain because of them today, cause today's P.E. will be dreadful... :P

Oh The Pills of Doom! A friend of mine used to take them, she was hungry 24/7 lol.

I s'pose they're useful when you're going to seaside with friends and refuse to put off all the fun and wear tampons... not sure whether I'd ever use them.

I don't mean to be rude or...what ever you want to call it but alot of professional athletes do not menstruate because they do not have enough body fat to trigger the hormones.

Yes, also anorexic and bulimic girls don't. Or if you're under big stress you might not get your periods for a time.

My friend was anorexic. She didn't get it... She didn't tell me that till afterwards, tho, when she was well again. *nodnod*

I'm feeling weird today, just so you know.

don't think i'd take the pills either, i take painkillers for the cramps and headaches, it's nice to know that my body is in working order... maybe putting it off for a few days or something but not stopping it completley.

I would never use them. It doesn't sound that good for you.

It's laso pretty much based on your emotions too. I don't know it's that way for everyone but it does happen to me. Anytime I'm stressed, depressed, angry or sad for a brief time...it always ends up being late and the cycle messes up alittle bit and I only end up feeling worse. *sigh*

I wouldn't ever use them. It would be nice in some ways, but it seems so unnatural or unhealthy. And you never know the long term effects on these things, it just seems a bit too risky.

I wouldn't take them... Like other people have said, I don't know what it would do to your body in long term effects.

Plus, I don't really mind my period all that much. I don't get cramps (just a little pain for a day but nothing an advil won't cure) so I don't really mind all that much.

^ Lucky you. I don't get cramps often either but when I do it's either a mild one or the most excruciating pain imaginable.

ok, new Topic.

Ok, have you guys ever heard of those pills that you can take, and they stop you from menstruating? What's your opinion on those? There are very few health risks involved, and the like, but it can be bad for your body because menstruating is important in ridding your body of excess iron and other minerals.

Interesting topic..

Actually, I've only heard of a certain pill [whose name escapes my mind] that reduces your monthly menstruating to only 4 times during the year. There were hardly any sides of effects or warnings listed, except the usual ones about not taking if you are pregnant, may become pregnant, nursing, etc.

But, I've definitely decided I don't agree with such a thing. Not trying to get religious or anything [this is just my opinion], but, God made women the way they are for a reason. If that means we have to deal with this monthly "curse" as some women call it, then so be it. It really isn't as big a nuisance as people make it out to be. And its part of human life and development.

Besides, think of all the health risks many people face [such as anorexics] whose mentrual cycles have stopped due to drastic loss of weight. Many of them are permanantly damaged for life and may not be able to produce children. Not to mention many suffer severe osteoporosis as well, which can really hit hard later down the road.

So.. that's my two cents worth. I don't think I've been in a good discussion like this in a long time. Great thoughts Darky! :)

Gah, when I'm in pain I'm barely able to move, so I'm afraid that won't help for me. But putting something warm where it hurts and relax in a comfortable position helps, too

Doctors claim that taking those pills and 'postpone' the period for a year or two shouldn't be unhealthy over time, at least not more than regular birth control pills, because the little amount of hormons you get through it should have a less - or equally - adversive effect than birth control pills.
But I still understand how people would regard it with suspicion... I think I might too....
