It's sad how so many Ringers walk alone in their "obsession," lol. That's why the internet is such a lifesaver!
Btw, what do you think of the Earendil poem Bilbo sings in Rivendell? I recently was given a cd of someone who had set several of Tolkien's poems, including that one, to music. The Earendil song is my favorite track! I started memorizing it as well. (Actually, 'tis a later version of it than in fotr, which I found in a book edited by Christopher Tolkien. Bless the lad! )

It's been done more than once. I have a cd by a group that has put out several records of Tolkien's songs set to music. (The one I have is called Dawn in Rivendell, and I believe it has Christopher Lee on it. )

Lol, The Silmarillion is my favorite book ever, so may I join? I keep seeing this, and coming here to join, and then I keep having to leave, and then I forget about it for a while, and then I see it again, and the cycle starts over.
Which is really annoying.
Anyways, do any of you guys write your own poems about events in The Silmarillion? I've done it a couple times. It's pretty fun.

Yes, I do that sometimes. They're not necessarily good but it is fun.

I do hope so.. if not, let's revive it!! The Sil is such a great book and it would be such a shame if we didn't have a club for it

Ohh the Sil club liveth!! That's wonderful.
I don't think Varda has been around for a long time so it looks like you'll have to be active non-members, but what does it matter if we can keep a conversation going

my favourite part is the story of Túrin Turambar I'd say. I absolutely luuv it. But I also love most other parts of the Sil like Tuor's and Earendil's story, the Lay of Leithan or the Ainulindale
