Meriana sighed. " yes. i do..he is from my old village." she looked a little confused at Darren. " why, have you been looking for me?" she asked him.
Darren ignored Gold Dusk and embraced Meriana again. Meriana pulled away. "darren...stop please. i'm engaged. " she said smiling.
Darren gave her a confused look. " what?...to who?" he asked her and then strangly looking at Gold Dusk. " him?" he asked pointing.
"yes" she said walking over to Gold Dusk and wraping an arm around him.

Gold Dusk smiled down at Meriana and took a small box from his pocket. "And since I was so Rudely interupted..." He glanced sharply in Darren's direction and placed the box in her hand.
The box contained a ring with a polished firestone, helt in place by a ring of intertwined vines across the surface.

Gold Dusk looked up and said, "Ok that may have been a little akward earlier... I apologise, I'm Gold Dusk. A pleasure to meed you Darren." He bowed in his usual fasion and extended his hand in a friendly shake.

Darren shook his hand. Darren was a little geeky and he thought he was in love with Meriana but he was sweet, kind, loving.
" hello. nice you meet you. i'm darren." he shook his hand. Darren turned to Meriana. " so who is this person you want me to meet?" he asked
Meriana smiled. " you'll see tomorrow." she then had a thought. " could you excuse us for a moment, darren." Meriana pulled Gold Dusk away from Darren. " Gold Dusk, he could be sent by my father. i know he doesn't look like the brightest light in the closet but...he's not that stupid. what if he goes back home and tells my father where i am.." she said getting a little worried.

Meriana nodded. she turned around to Darren. " um..could you excuse us another moment please. just wait for us over by that tree...way over there." she said pointing to a random far off tree.
Darren nodded and went to the tree and waited.

" ok " she said opening the box and handing the ring to him so he could put it on her finger. she smiled.

Gold Dusk took the ring and carefully slid it onto her hand. It was a perfect fit, and he smiled, then pulled her close and kissed her passionately. When he finally pulled away he looked down at her and asked, "Do you know how hard it was to stop kissing you?" He looked back at where Darren stood and noticed that the boy was looking at something off in the woods. "Come on. We better get him back to the hurd so he doesn't get any funny ideas." He cocked an eyebrow at Meriana.

" so Darren you'll be staying with Gold Dusk tonight. "
" but Meriana why can't i stay with you?" he protested.
" Darren i'm engaged now. that wouldn't be aproproate." she said her smile leaving her face.
" your engaged!!" he said stoping in his tracks.
Meriana looked at him like he was crazy. " yes Darren i told you this earlier."
" you did......oh..i'm sorry." Darren said walking again.

when they got back to the meadow everyone had finished dinner. she turned to Darren. " you can follow Gold Dusk back to his house, and i'll take you to the person i want you to meet tomorrow." she said nodding to Darren. she walked over to Gold Dusk and kissed him. " goodnight." she said wispering into his ear. " oh and...he still has no clue that you were once a centar and that we live with a hurd of them." she wispered to him before pulling away.
