Well, we are certainly back to discussing things that only apply to girls once again at least.
Personaly speaking I get grossed out and embarassed quite often. Blood does not bother me one bit. As I have said before things like human surgery does not bother me at all. Now where body parts are like thrown about on murder shows...now that I do not like. Oh, and I have a much younger brother and he talks gross (puke, bugs, blood, ect ect) and I really can not stand that. He always waits to talk about anything that is gross until we are sitting at the dinner table though. (shakes head) Sometimes even in public. At that point I just want to crawl under the table. My mother has to tell him not to speak like that all of the time. I supose it may be a boy thing though...because I and my sister at that age never ever spoke of anything like that.
Well, my dad thinks that I know nothing of how the female human body works. He hates it whenever I say any guy is cute too. He wants me to go back to being eight years old. Then when I actualy am talking to a guy he really freaks out. Now my mother is a yes and a no. She knows that I know that kind of thing. However she points out the most obvious things. "The not until you are married" comes up all the time and I look at her like she is insane. I am like I know that! I decided to wait until I was married years and years ago, mum. That embarrasses me and makes me mad. lol
Now one really thing about my mum though is that she really does not mind if I tell her that I think a boy is cute. Sometimes she will even give me her opinion of them (if they are on television or the big screen anyway...Josh Holloway, Orlando Bloom ect). So I never have to be embarrassed to tell her that I like or think that a guy is cute though.
As for periods...I was never scared of such. I was majorly embarrassed by it (one time I want on a trip with some friends of mine and I ended up with it...now that was very embarrassing). I was never terribley excited about it either. More of oh I dread that kind of thing. lol Um I got mine the month before my 13th birthday.
Aerlinn, What country are you from, (if you don't mind my asking)?

Got my little monthly gift when i was eleven, i was at camp and i was so sad/scared that i wanted to go home, like, i knew what it was but i got bad cramps so i just wanted to go home...
my mom always tells me when a guy is staring at me, or whatever, usually its just because shes bored. We went to A&W and there was a guy and a girl at the counter and we were sitting down, this is how our convo went:
"Jenna, that guy is staring at you."
"People do that mom."
"No really he is."
*eye roll, looks at guy*
"Mom, thats a girl."
Interesting.
As for the sex thing, i can make choices, so i can have sex if i want, i dont want it right now, i'll wait until im in a realtionship with a steady guy. I dont do drugs, or smoke or have sexual relations, and thats fine with me.

I got the whole 'talk' at age 9 or 10 - I was in 4th grade. It amuses me that some people get excited about their period. I hated everything about 'the talk.' I just wanted to leave the room and remain naive. I always dreaded 'starting' (and can't say I have enjoyed it since it started.) Plus the whole...erm...other part of the talk just really grossed me out. I still am NOT attracted to the idea of sex, but whatever, I figure I'll get used to it eventually. Certainly saving it for marriage.

Wow, it appears a lot of you girls got your first periods quite early. I really don't know how you could get it as young as 8. It really suppose to be 13 (at least that was what I was told) but apparently it doesn't appear to be that way anymore which I find kinda odd. And btw, I was 13 when I first got mine. The whole conversation about it didn't come up until I was 11.

I think i was 12 when i got mine. I was the youngest in my family to get it. Someone i know doesn't have it and she can't wait to have it, but i'm probably speaking for every girl that it is a huge pain, especially in the first couple years when it is an irregular cycle. I hate it because i do all the sports that it is soo uncomfertable to have it in (horse back riding and dance)
As for the talk, it was forced upon me in 6th grade. I was very immature about it at that time and i would plug my ears and scream LA LA LA each time the subject came up. But now i am good, i know the whole sha-bang and i have excepted it as natural. For me I will not have sex until marriage. Mostly because I am Christian and that's how i was raised, but also because that's how i want to be viewed by guys. I wan't to be seen as the girl a guy can take home and introduce to his family without being the slightest bit embarrassed. At this age boys are just going out with teh slutty and 'popular' girls just to well... get some. But are those the girls they want to marry and bring home to meet their family? No, it's people like me, who don't have boyfriends but are waiting for that one special guy to really see what i have to offer.
I don't want to give myself up just because every other girl is. I believe in respecting yourself and i do.

I actually never got the talk. Pretty odd huh? No one really cared cause during my teenage years, I didn't have my mom around at the time and my guardian never really paid much attention to me unless I got into trouble. I listened to the whole sex thing enough at school, starting learning of it when I was 12. Of course at that age, you're still laughing at the topic. Even in high school some people still laughed at it but you think at that age you'd stop laughing. I'm not one that rushes into sex either. Sure, I'm almost 24 and never had sex but I am proud to say it. I am not during for any religious beliefs or anything like that even though I am half Catholic and the whole sex before marriage is a sin but I am not following that anyway. I follow no religion. I am going by my own rules and I am just choosing to wait until I find the right guy (which isn't going to be for some time since I have chosen to stop dating for awhile after a recent breakup) and when I say I am ready.

Yees....so it would seem...
Seriously though, we've been talking about womanly things for the past page.... if Kit looks at this thread now she'll think we're waay off topic again.... so let's continue the discussion eh?
Does anyone get back pains a couple of days or even a week before a period? Because I do and it really annoys me.
