Captain Jack knocked down yet another Orc to the ground, and stuck the tip of his cutlass deep into the deformed body. Too easy for one so skilled, thought Jack.
"I could argue about the fairness of this situation," Jack tried to laugh as he jumped over Pippin, or was it Merry? He wasn’t too sure and he could break his focus by seeing who it was. "Then again it would be foolish for a pirate to claim about what is a fair and what isn’t, hmmm?"
The sound of squishing guts echoed followed by one Goblin clenching his side in pain and doubling over.
"Sorry about yer mate," Jack brought the blade against the other Goblin in a swift motion, knocking it aside. "But not as nearly as sorry as what I am about to do." He nearly tackled the Orc before he swept off it's head.

"Oh bloody..." Will muttered as he noticed that the weapon seemed to have no effect on the enormous troll.
Backing away nervously, Will stumbled over a small dwarven skeleton body and fell onto his back. Scrambling to stand, he managed to grab a scimitar off of the black orc blood stained floor and readied himself to fight....if at all necessary.... His eyes meanwhile, where searching for a way out of this situation. --------------------------------------------------
Frodo scuttled along the balcony to find himself all too close to the terrible monster troll. In a panic, he hid behind a dwarven carved pillar, twisting his head this way and that, looking for any sign of the beast.

[hey guys, as most of you know I'm back. 'nyhow, PotR has very graciously given me back Gandalf, and Melda has given me back my beloved Boromir. On we go then!]
Glamdring whirled through the mayhem, piercing orc armor and repulsive flesh. Whenever there was half a moment without an arrow or clash of steel ringing near him, Gandalf's eyes shot back to Frodo, ever wary of letting the Ring get too close to the enemy or these strangers traveling with them. All the hobbits were so vulnerable, so small and untrained; and yet he had a strange sense of absolute belief that he needn't fear for any of them.
But at the moment, all his attention was caught up in battling this foul cave troll, and his gaze failed to fall on Frodo's peril.
-------------------
Boromir had shaken himself up to fight again, and was struggling to not let anger get in the way of a clear head he needed while wielding his sword. He concentrated on getting as many orcs down as possible, to enable the others to better attack the troll.

Jack leapt over more fallen bodies of the Goblins, tip-toed over the Dwarven corpses, and swayed, dodged and danced his way through the battle.
Although, the pirate had been said to be nothing but a bad piece of drunken luck, Jack sure was good luck to himself. An arrow would fire through the air, barely missing his red bandana. A Goblin weapon would jab at his abdomen and it would amazingly fail its aim. The cave troll's hammer would pound the ground, but never seemed to hit the saunting Sparrow.

Spotting a small moving being hiding behind a dwarven pillar, the cave troll immediately changed its attention from William to Frodo.
Sticking his large round rough head around the pillar, he roared in anger as his knarly hand gripped Frodo by the foot and began to pull him into position for a good smashing with his club.
Scrambling for something to grab on to, Frodo paniced with wild eyes, "Aragorn! Aragorn!" With a quick swing of Sting, Frodo sliced a small sliver into the troll's hand, making it release it's grip.
Falling to the ground below, Frodo landed on his back, but managed to sit up with no broken bones or injuries.
However, the troll did not retreat it's attack...it just drew closer.

Aragorn continued to slice his way through opponents. Though he wasn't quite sure how, somewhere between dodging the cave troll's massive club and gutting yet another orc, he'd made his way up to the raised walkway along the perimeter of the room. Blocking a rapid succession of blows from an oncoming orc, he finally just forewent a weapon entirely and punched the creature in the face, using the momentum of the blow to whirl around and slash through another orc.
Ducking under one opponent's blade, Aragorn brought his up just in time to parry another's, the energy of the impact forcing him to recoil. As he leaned briefly against the chamber's stone wall, he spotted Frodo attempting to escape the cave troll and failing miserably. With a cry, the Ranger picked up a discarded spear and leapt down, placing himself between the troll and the Halfling. Putting as much force behind the blow as he could, he drove the head of the spear up under the creature's ribcage and wrenched it with all his might. This attempt seemed to wound the troll at least a little more than Will's had, but it still seemed to do little more than further incense the already furious creature. Roaring, the troll wildly swung a massive arm at Aragorn, catching the man squarely in the chest. Aragorn flew back and hit his head against a stone pillar, and for the moment, at least, his world went black.

Frodo could only cower in fear as Aragorn stabbed the cave troll with all his strength. Unfortunately, it had very little effect and the consequences sent Aragron flying through the air, hitting his head on the cave wall, and falling to the ground.
Forcing himself to move, Frodo dashed to Aragorn's side and shook him violently on the shoulder, in order to wake him. However, nothing seemed to be working.
Just then his sharp hobbit eyes caught site of the cave troll lifting the spear, that he had been stabbed with, coming down toward him.
Scrambling like a small spider, Frodo dodged the spear thursts twice, but by the third time, he was trapped against a corner and........."Awww...aw....." The spear forced itself through Frodo's abodomen and he felt his world darken as he began to lose breath. Gasping and grunting for air, he fell to his knees, with his blue eyes rolling to the back of his skull.

As if signaled the whole Fellowship fell silent, frozen in shocked disbelief. Even the snarls of goblins ceased - though this was almost completely due to the fact that very few were left alive. Merry started forward, open-mouthed and horrified, in those few endless seconds where agony spasmed through Frodo's face and he crumpled, falling slowly as if through water.
Even the cave troll seemed stunned as it moved back, seeming almost to grin bemusedly - and then the silence was broken. Merry yelled and rushed forward, flinging himself blindly onto the troll's back and clawing ineffectually with his small sword.
Even as the rest of the Fellowship recovered Sam remained paralyzed until he could gasp "Frodo!" and then dash with another shout to catch his master as he fell. He was terrifyingly limp. Sam didn't make it until Frodo was facedown, slumped lifelessly.
In the shocked realization that their Ringbearer was dead - or so they thought - the Fellowship fought with renewed fury. Merry found himself dimly slashing at every ounce of cave troll available until he flew through the air to land on stone with a jarring impact, nearly blacking out.
The world was a flurry of weaponry until Legolas leapt nimbly down from the raised walkway to face the hobbit-laden troll. He paused for a split second to wait, wait for the right moment - and just as the troll reared up to roar the elf loosed his arrow. It hit the mark.

Barbossa jumped out of the way as the massive troll staggered about disorientedly, then finally fell to the ground with a thud. Morbid curiosity, more than anything else, drew him over to where the others were staring in shock.
Aragorn's vision finally cleared, only to reveal a sight he'd been dreading from the moment they'd begun this quest. Frodo -the Ringbearer- was lying facedown on the ground, unresponsive to those around him. "Oh no," he whispered, fearing the worst. Crawling on his hands and knees through the rubble, he quickly reached the halfling's lifeless form and pulled him up. To his great surprise, however, Frodo abruptly began gasping for air.

Jack's body was suddenly noticed to be next to Aragorn. How and when the pirate arrived at the scene was beyond the Fellowship, and the rest of them.
Strange enough though, Jack seemed to care for the hobbit named Frodo. It might have been shown by the way his face pulled when he saw the halfing impaled by the massive spear of the Troll.
But when Frodo arouse, Jack couldn't help but smirk. His hot breath came close to Aragorn's ear and he spoke, "The lil' man must be like one of us." He notioned towards Barbossa and himself.

William was now near the commotion over the hobbit. He could barely see over Legolas' and Gandalf's tall shoulders, but he eventually found a small space between them that allowed him to see Frodo and Aragorn. "Thank goodness he's all right," he said to himself outloud. ------------------------------------------- As Frodo rolled onto his back, he found himself lying in Aragorn's lap gasping for air and feeling a sharp pain in his abdomen. Fortunately, he looked down to find that he was uninjured. Sitting up, he looked to Sam, near his side, and responded with large gasps, "I'm all right. I'm not hurt." His hand rested upon his stomach, as his blue eyes reassured the company around him.

"You should be dead," Aragorn breathed in disbelief, his eyes still searching for any sign of even a slight wound. Frodo's shirt was torn where the spear had made contact, but the halfling himself seemed entirely unharmed. "That spear would have skewered a wild boar!"
"An' yet you don't accuse him of deviltry," Barbossa felt the need to interject.
