Rostam, having arrived via cramped ale shaft, scanned the companions before he made for the gates with all speed. "We're missing one," he said tightly, eyes moving about the street. Soldiers would be there before very long. "Ulric, we have to move."

OoC. Ok.
Khusrau crept his way towards the barn throught the same ale shaft as Rostam. He entered rather quietly and tried to keep himself as undisruptive as possible.

Catching sight of Khusrau, Kamal followed him from a distance, not wanting any soldiers to see something suspicious. He soon reached the barn and joined the ones already there. "Are we all here?" he asked quietly, letting his eyes adjust to the dark interior.

Arash Janaveh
Arash skidded around a corner, his feet scrabbling for purchase on the stonework. He nipped around a woman, carrying a basket of apples, narrowly avoiding knocking her flying. She turned to curse after him, and was hit by one of the soldiers coming around the corner, who did knock her flying, the apples rolling around the street, causing not a few curses to be hurled at the soldiers who dodged the apples, and carried on pounding after the younger, nimbler and less heavily armoured Arash.
Arash had gone along a few streets, the soldiers getting more and more out of breath behind him, he was running towards a gate, trying to make them believe that he was trying to escape the city. Then he took a sharp left turn, carrerring down a side street, and another sharp left, which would have taken him back towards the city center, and completely lost the guards.
It might even have worked, if he hadn't collided with a burly man around the corner, sending both of them to the floor.
The man rubbed his head where it had been hit, and cursed quietly. Before Arash knew what was happening, the man's companion had grabbed Arash, and held a dagger at his throat. "What...?" croaked Arash.
He took in the people he had bumped into. The man who was picking himself up from the street was quite a burly man, most of his face hidden by a large turban. The man holding a dagger to his throat was solidly built, and quite tall. There were two women, the smaller one appeared to be supporting the other, who was wounded. Evidently, Arash had found some more fugitives from the soldiery of the city, or at the least some people who had been in a brawl.
The man who had been knocked to the ground waved an arm "Let him go Rostam, he is no threat."
And Arash felt the pressure released on his throat.
The speaker waved his arm "I suggest you get away 'friend' go home. The city isn't safe at the minute."
As if to testify to his words, the three soldiers who had been chasing Arash jogged into view, wheezing heavily, attracted by all the commotion they had been making.
One of them raised his sword half-heartedly, and cried "There he is!" and broke into a half-run towards them. One of his fellows ran with him, but the third lent against the wall, putting his sword under his arm, and pulled out a horn, giving it a clear blast.
Almost instantly, the sound of running feet, and calls were heard, and ten more soldiers, fresh, and ready for action, came into view at the other end of the alley-way, quite a distance away, a lot further than the three soldiers. Running was out of the question. They would have to surrender, or fight their way out.
[ooc: JSYK, I've finally managed to catch up with someone ¬¬ Ellie and Meldawen's 2 charries, + the NPC. We're in an alley near the edge of the city, three exhausted soldier's block our escape from the alley and ten are further away on the center-side. You don't know me, I don't know you, but I'm coming with you somehow, or it'll make a poor RP with me going off on my tod. OK? OK.]

((Just FYI, Rostam doesn't wear a turban, and he's not really the type to jump on Arash quite that fast. Anousha's more hot-tempered. ))
"I'm sure we can trade stories later," interrupted Rostam, swiveling to scan their possible escape routes. "Unless any of you find the prospect of surrendering to these soldiers attractive, we're leaving. Now. By any means possible."
He glanced once at Anousha and she raised an eyebrow as if to inquire whatever for - and then soldiers were rushing at them. Rostam dispatched one with a solid punch that sent the smaller, wiry man reeling, and in his peripheral vision caught sight of the one with the horn, on the point of winding it again. "Get the horn!" he shouted over the general mayhem.
Anousha whipped out the tiny dagger she kept in her belt - a necessity, she'd found, for a pretty young woman who lived as she did - and darted past several soldiers, ducking underneath weapons. Deftly she caught the horn in one hand, danced sideways when the soldier struck at her, and slammed the dagger up and inwards. It was something she'd practiced many a time, but not actually used - and so was suddenly stunned when he dropped with a gurgle, obviously dead.

[ooc: Ulric has the turben, as per his picture ]
Arash saw his new-found accomplices moving to attack the smaller group of soldiers blocking their way. The man who had grabbed Arash managed to punch a soldier out, and the small woman ducked under a sword swing, grabbing a dagger and stabbing the soldier with the horn.
Arash watched her pause, standing over the body, presumably making sure that the soldier posed no more threat. But the soldier she had dodged to get there had turned, and was advancing back after her with his longsword ready.
Arash cursed. SHe wasn't going to turn in time. He ran up to the soldier, leaping on his back and grabbing his helmet with both hands, forcing his head back. The soldier overbalenced, with an unexpected new weight on his back, falling to the ground, his sword and shield going skidding across the ground.
Arash got in another punch to his kidneys before rolling away, and standing up. The soldier was coughing on the floor, and with all his chainmail armour, he would be a time standing up and retrieving his weapons. He was no more threat.
Looking around, none of the three soldier's who had blocked their way were a threat any more. But the ten running towards them still were a very large threat...

OoC. Umm....well, let's just make me be at the barn by knowledge of secret passage or something like that. I don't want to pit an old priest against soldiers just yet.

[ooc] Just a heads up - I will be away from Wednesday evening until the following Tuesday sometime. I will possibly be in to RP sometime during that time, but if I haven't poked my head in by Saturday, god-mod me someone. Preferably Ellie, as he knows what I'll do. And try not to kill me. [/ooc]
