People mistake me for my mum over the phone all the time, but what annoys me more is when I say that I'm her daughter and then they still think I'm my mum and start talking about things I have no idea about

I always get mistaken for my mother, or another female realtive, but since I have no sisters, people get confused... it's awkward to have someone call, and ask for my mom, then me... its weird.

I always used to have that problem. People always used to mistake me for my mom or my sister, so one day I decided to solve that problem. When I answer the phone now, I say "Hello, this is [insert my name] speaking". It sounds kind of silly and formal, but it works

I never get mistaken for my mother, but my sister and I get mixed up a lot. We can usually fool people on the phone, too. One time in particular was pretty funny- my grandmother, who we only see about once a year anyway, thought that I was my sister and I didn't have the heart to tell her otherwise. She just seemed so sure that I was my sister, I didn't want to tell her half way through the conversation it was me. And then when it was her turn to talk to "me", my sister picked it up. We laughed about that one afterward.

My dad can never get me right on the phone. Plus I have a fear of phones so i don't really answer the phone. But I am waiting for a call back from a job offer. Ugh, I really want this job. Oh well.
I do get that me and my older sister are twins OR I'm the oldest! lol.

Wow it looks like allmost all of us get mixed up with our siblings or mothers over the phone. I am glad that I am not the only one. Personaly speaking people Always think that I am my mother when I answer the phone. I really do not understand why though. I answer the phone with "'Ello". My mother never does that. I supose we sound alike but still...
When I was much younger people would ask if my sister and I were twins. I do not get it near as much now though (which I am Very glad of). I liked it when I was five and six but when I turned seven or eight I was like, "Can you not tell I am nearly three years older than her?!". Thankfully now though I really do not get asked if we are twins. However now I get asked if my mother is my sister... ...all of the time. Anyone ever been asked that one?

I'm never been asked that Me and my mum look very different, though I'm taller than her she still dresses and looks considerably more mature and older than I do

Interesting thought...(ahem)
I've wondered that before and I don't think so...I don't know WHY, I just don't think elves are that much like humans.

I've wondered about that before myself. But I do not think there really is any information about that out there.
