aragorn and arwen belong together. there is a special bond between them . i have nothing against eowyn, in fact i really approve some of her points of view, and i really like that she is brave and noble a true frend and everything, but she belongs with faramir.. and she is happy that way, just like aragorn is happy with arwen.

I agree, evenstarelfe. Aragorn and Arwen belong together, as do Faramir and Eowyn.
Some people think Eowyn is better for Aragorn because she actually went out and fought, and all Arwen did was stay in Rivendell (this is not my opinion). Any thoughts?

well i don't think you can measure whether she is for him or not in that precise way. i think it has a lot more to do with other things, and quite frankly i really support her because of that. that is something i really like about her. as for arwen she didn't went to war, but she decided to stay mortal and that isn't a small thing to do. it meant that she would never see her father and brothers again. no, aragorn and arwen belong together no matter what.

I agree with you, evenstarelfe. Arwen did things that were just as important as what Eowyn did. Arwen giving up her immortality to spend the rest of her life with Aragorn was a HUGE decision. She couldn't see her family. She would eventually die. She could get sick. She would have to watch Aragorn die. But she did it anyway, and for that, Arwen is just as courageous as Eowyn.

Some would argue that Eowyn is meant for Aragorn because of her ability to weild a sword and fight in a time when that sort of thing when done by women was frowned upon. As we know, after spending time in the houses of healing, Eowyn finds herself a different woman. She would rather heal than where the crown of Gondor. Ultimately, I think that this decision would have made it impossible for her an Aragorn to be together happily. Aragorn definitely made the better choice in Arwen. Besides, he had been betrothed to her long before.

I like to think that Aragorn and Arwen were better suited. I like the way Larael has written it. I agree that Aragorn and Arwen were better suited in teh long run, but picturing a shield maiden like Eowyn and Aragorn, may 'look fair but feel fowl' ha !

*chuckles* Thankies my friends. I'm very much flattered, though I value your opinions just as much as I value my own.

But Back on topic people
Yeah - It just seems as though on the outside Aragorn and Eowyn are better suited, until you delve into the depths of Eowyn's heart and you realise that it is only a shodow of Aragorn, as most people have stated, that she loves.
Aragorn and Arwen forever, their love was unbreakable.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaanywho (thanks, Frodos-Guide )...
I agree with you. Eoywn didn't know Aragorn as well as Arwen did. She also didn't know him as long as Arwen had. I think it has a lot to do with their history.

Actually, I don't think it has so much to do with their history, Elwing. I mean, in LotR you know for a fact that Éowyn loves Aragorn, or thinks she does, but Aragorn never returns that feeling. I think that the affection that Aragorn feels for her is more like what a brother feels for his sister. I don't believe that he ever loved her more than that. For him, there was never any doubt that Arwen was the one for him, not Éowyn.
So really, since this is in the book subforum, a lot of the topic becomes invalid, since Éowyn's love was not returned even so much as it's shown in the movies.
Arwen and Aragorn are a better match, anyhow.

I believe you're on to something there, Aerandir. Eowyn's "love" for Aragorn wasn't shown in the books to the extent it was in the movies.

I think Aragorn and Arwen made a wonderful couple, but theres was too much against their relationship. Arwen's kin were sailing to the undying lands, they were to be separated. Aragorn was a mortal man, albeit blessed with long life...
I think Eowyn was better suited to him. She was much like him, shared a passion for bravery and after all it was he who made her smile..

I disagree with you, Naerwen. Aragorn made Eowyn smile, but she did not make him smile. Faramir also made Eowyn smile, and she made him smile.
