'Tis a hard, hard desicion to make.
I've always been partial to Frodo, Boromir, Galadriel, and Merry. Mostly Boromir though.
Frodo -because he's so brave, he endures so much... proving himself stronger than anyone else. His gentle and sincere mannerisms always touch the deepest part of me... and there is something in him so noble... that it inspires even Elf to view him with awe. A hobbit. Truly, and amazing creature.
Boromir -Oh gosh. Boromir is so misunderstood... when in truth he is one of the truest hero's in the Fellowship. He does what no one else does, he gives his life for the hobbits. He dies for the cause. Sure, he is weak, but even his weakness is a noble thing... for it shows how deeply he loves and cares for his people. *cries* Boromir inspires so much in me. I wish there were more men like him.
Galadriel -WOW. First off... she is so beautiful! Galadriel is amazing... she is such an awe-inspiring elf. Her magical abilities give her such a wonderous appearance, and then she is so feminine, and once again... she has a weakness. She is no superhero. She has a natural desire for the Ring.... but she does not take it. Rather, she inspires Frodo further on.
Merry -Once again, Merry is so often unappreciated, because cute little Pippin takes the limelight (and believe me, I have nothing against Pip, I think he's awesome!) In the book, Merry is truly one of the wisest characters... he thinks ahead, and is more serious. In the movie, they give him a slightly lighter side... which I like. He isn't understood, isn't appreciated... they underestimate him just becausehe is a halfling. But Merry was among the bravest warriors that ever fought. It just proves that yes, even the smallest and most insignificant person can be made of honorable inner stuff.

hmmm do you have to ask... SAM of course... he's cute and loyal and very protective, he follows his promises through and follows frodo to the end, comes back to frodo after he's sent away, fights a giant spider, climbs to the top of an orc infested tower to save frodo, as well as trying to keep frodo sane and normal. to me for someone who is literally the guy next door, who is definately not interested in adventures or far off places it is amazing + the friendship he has with frodo is the best in literal history... it takes the whole servant master relationship to a whole other level... *pauses for breath*.. ok i think you get it now...rant over , the 3 other hobbits, legolas, theoden, faramir, aragorn and arwen and eowyn are all pretty cool too

It's impossible for me to choose a favorite character! They are all awsome in their own ways. But i would have to say, the story wouldn't be as great without the hobbits! Particularly Merry and Pippin, the pranksters!

Legolas. Forever and always. Just something about him. Maybe it's because he slide down a shield while shooting arrows at orcs, survived three major battles, stuck with Aragorn to the end, and all the while had perfectly awesome hair. How I love elves.

To anyone else who likes Merry, good for you! My favorites are Merry, Frodo, and Aragorn because A) Aragorn is so calm and noble and he gives up the chance to take the Ring when Frodo offers it to him. That is so hard to do so I admire him B) Frodo was the one who almost threw the Ring into Mt. Doom and he withstood the evil power for a long time. C) And Merry is not really appreciated, like Fencing Maiden said. He is loyal and in the books, he was one of the smartest. He also helped kill the Witch King... And he is hot. (Hence, my username.) -Calloniel

I agree with Firiel. Who my favorite is depends on my mood. But most of the time, I like Arwen, Sam, and Eowyn.

Aragorn, Legolas, Arwen and Faramir. Cause Legolas is just cool, Aragorn is really noble and loyal and was able to turn down the ring and the other two I just like, for no particular reason .
