Zutao spun round and stared at his freind in shock. "Go. Now. Run" He commanded coldly pushing Aiko away from him, in a desperate attempt to stop him killing her. "Leave" He stood up and pushed her roughly away. Then took a step foreward warily. "Kuroda" he opened his hands to show they were empty "I can explain" his eyes flicked to the fire then back up to his Kuroda's eyes "Your not going to kill me now are you Kuro-sama?" he joked, still edgeing foreward fearfully.

Kuroda's rage dissapated as quickly as it had come, and the fire melted away from his hands. "No, I'm not going to kill you, friend. He handed his friend his Katana, "But she might have, if not directly, she could have distracted you at a vital moment. And you were unarmed. Had I been one of her people..." He trailed off, to give Zutao something to think about.

He turned away to go back to the fighting, then paused and slowly faced his friend, "I am just irritated that you chose this particular time to find a girl. Think before you act next time, it could have cost you your life, and, in doing so, would have also cost me a very dear friend." He smiled a shaky ghost of a smile, hoping Zutao would understand.

Aiko looked up in surprise as Zutao pushed her away. Kuroda-kun. she thought as she caught a glimpse of the newcomer. You did not even hear him approach until he spoke out, and you call yourself a shinobi, she thought in chastisement. She remained in the shadows a bit longer, feeling her blood freeze as she listened to Kuroda's rebuke. Had she met Zutao at any other time, she would have welcomed his death, but things were different. Now she was just thankful that none of her kin had spotted them.

Zutao-kun. Gomenasai [I'm sorry]. she thought to herself as she backed into the shadows.

(Rain if you wanted to you could probably run into my character [she is still in the vicinity of Zutao and Kuroda] or you could meet up with Zutao and Kuroda. I am also wondering how we could bring our four characters interact since Cora is at the Koga mansion. The only ideas I have is if someone takes my character captive back to the mansion or if after the battle we discover Cora is missing and a group of us set out to "find" her)

Zutao nodded "Thanks" he said gruffley, slotting his katana back into place. Then looked at his freind sharply "She's not my girl though, have you noticed Cora-san's not here? I was trying to find out...i suppose i got a bit caught up in the moment though" he laughed sheepishly, trying to cover his tracks.

Yashamaru had finnished off the rest of the ninjas-no thanks to Zutao. He had seen what was going on, and walked over to Kuroda and Zutao.
"So, did we come just to kill some guards?"

(by the way, other than the conversation in ()s, I only have a slight idea what's going on... Sorry, I'm really tired at the moment)

(^ Actually it would be my character-Cora is already hidden in the Koga mansion

In a nutshell-I believe that Kuroda and Cora had a secret meeting and then he flew her to the Koga mansion and hid her in his room-but no one knows that-it seems like we are just realizing that Cora is missing. During the battle Zutao and Aiko met-fought and wound up kissing. Kuroda caught them and Zutao sent her away so she would not be killed.)

Aiko ran stealthily through the shadows, pausing in mid-step as she saw the bodies of her comrades littering the ground. No. she thought as her lips tightened with fury. This should have been you. she thought as she knelt by one of the bodies, staring absently at the blood that stained the ground. Cora-sama. she thought suddenly, as the color drained from her cheeks. With that she leapt to her feet and onto the balcony. She then jumped to the ground, landing silently on her feet and raced through the mansion, forgetting all propriety as she hastily pushed opened Cora's door. She gasped in horror realizing that Cora was not there-nor did it seem that she had been there for some time. Cursing at her own foolishness she quickly searched the other rooms in vain for any sign of the lord's daughter. With that she raced outside again, fear for Cora driving her. Please let her be safe. she thought as she began to search their surroundings. If any evil befalls her, my seppuku [ritual suicide] will not be enough to atone for my failure. Nor could I in good faith desire to live if I allowed so precious a life to be lost.

At his friend's words, Kuroda's blood ran cold. Feeling suddenly very faint, he sat down heavily on the ground, his face turning a pasty white. He swallowed hard, then looked up at Zutao. "We did not come to kill Cora. We came to teach her family a lesson. She is not in the mansion. I should know, because I removed her from the danger. That is why I was late for the battle. You can kill me for fratrinizing with the enemy, but I showed you mercy, it would be honorable for you to do the same." He hung his head, feeling weak and helpless, drained by the emotions he had dared to show.

Zutao knelt down slowly and looked into his freinds face "Cora's the girl you love isn't she. You missed the attack to save her." he stated slowly as he suddenly understood the full situation "You didn't kill me becuase you thought i was like you. You thought we both loved Iako's."

He stood up again and kicked Kuroda hard in the face. "Well your wrong. I'm nothing like you." He spat on the ground and turned to Yashamaru.
"Koga Kuroda is no longer in command. He is a prisoner. Send out any of our remaining men and capture any liveing Iako's, especially the Lady Aiko; i want her especially." He snapped out coldly.

Then turned back to Kuroda. "You will not try to escape or I will kill Cora on our return. For the sake of the promise i made to you and our past freindship i shall neither kill you or tell your farther. Do not delude yourself into thinking that i owe you anything for earlier." He said in a cold and distant voice; cutting himself off completly from his freind.

Shock crossed Kuroda's face, "In saving her I did a deed for our people as well. I kidnapped her and she is a prisoner." His face turned hard and he stood up, hand on his katana. "You have no right to take my command, Zutao."

His hands once again became fire, but this time, he did not hesitate. Pointing one hand at Yashamaru, he warned him not to move, with the other, he struck at his former friend. "The price that I pay for love is too great, Zutao. My honor stands, but your's apparently does not. Honor is worth more than all the power in the world, therefore, you must be rendered powerless." But as he said this, tears welled in his eyes. I don't want to kill you, but honor is greater than power.

Zutao fell to the ground clutching his face where Kuroda had burnt him. One hand trasformed into ice and he held it too the burn. "I have every right Kuroda." he spoke through clenched teeth. "You love an Iako. You have betrayed our people, and therefore it is for my houner and that of our clan that i have to take your power away from you."

He struggled to his feet an drew his katana. "You think i do this for power? We both know that i hate leading. But i'm second after to and its my duty to protect you from yourself."

A wall of ice sprung up between Yashamaru and Kuroda. "Let him find Aiko. Whatever we privaetly think theres nothing against captureng the Iako second in command. She can be company to Cora when we present them to your farther...If you really are doing the clan a good deed." He challenged calmly.

Aiko raced through their domain in search for Cora when she was blocked by a small group of Koga shinobi.

"Prepare yourself!" one hissed as he drew his sword.

Aiko eyed him cruelly, cursing mentally at the rotten timing. The daughter of her lord was missing, most of their warriors where slain and now she had to waste valuable minutes on foot soldiers she saw with little worth "I have no time for your nonsense. If you value your lives, leave me in peace else I swear I'll slaughter you like the dogs you are." she replied coldly.

"Slay her!" the shinobi ordered his group as they surrounded her. In a fluid motion, Aiko drew her pair of sai and slashed the closest warrior. Without missing a step, she leapt into the air at the same time as another and slashed him across the chest, not even caring when her opponent slumped to the ground. Paring the stroke of one ninja she then disentangled their weapons and slit his throat before turning her attention to the next. Driven by a blinding fury, she no longer cared for whom she killed-wanting only to find the whereabouts of her lord's daughter. As the dust cleared, Aiko shook the blood off her sai before sheathing them. Cora-where are you? she thought as she continued to search the grounds-hoping against hope that she would not discover her body among the carnage.
