Round 8
---------------------------------
(Results of Round 7 at bottom)
Hello and welcome to the sixth round of the Creative Challenge Contest! I’m Aliana, your Host; feel free to ask me any questions you have about the contest or individual challenges.
The Creative Challenge Contest is about artistic improvement, expanding your boundaries to do things you wouldn’t necessarily try otherwise. There will not be rounds about specific fandoms, but you can have fandom-related things in your graphics. If you have any suggestions regarding rounds or otherwise, let me know via PM and I’ll add them to the list. Remember to have fun and respect other contestants!
Round 8:

The online t-shirt companies all over the place are booming with business and creative ideas. Clothing can be walking advertising, a political statement, a message, or just plain fun - so what better way to express yourself?

Very cool Pandora! I would have liked if the main focus was either on the guitar[bigger, maybe positioned off-center from the text] or the turntables instead of both since it seems very busy right now, but the colors and text are fab. Have to be careful with text on t-shirts because there are certain fontfaces and styles/colors that will make people's eyes hurt, which is why vector instead of grunge is usually a better idea for shirt design.
=P I design t-shirts professionally now, so this is a very close-to-home round for me. Thanks for joining everyone!

LOVE the designs, Aramel. The only thing I have to say is to be careful with the fading colors. What they do with most t-shirts is either print it directly on the shirt or print it on a plastic-y thing on the shirt and either way the ink costs a lot of money to fade like that. The silhouette vectors are fab, but it'd be a good idea to work with just a few colors on a palette.
Again, I know this is just for fun[and they are totally awesome, I would wear them in heart beat] but I'm being all realistic and stuff about it because it's something I've studied a while. Don't change your entry or anything because of the colors. =P
@Pan:
I designed t-shirts for a while not too long ago, then got a steady job and had to slow down the progress. But I'm thinking about going at it again with my own designs instead of just designing for other people.
These are some good examples of vector art on t-shirts:

Vectors are hard to do, mostly because you can't use photoshop or any program that rasterizes images[basically, makes the edges blurrier/less clear-cut]. DevArt has some great stuff, though, and there's a few cool tutorials on vectoring I've found there.
Another awesome t-shirt site that only sells one limited-edition shirt a day: http://www.teefury.com/

Great designs, Arewen! =)
I'm gonna cut out the random design comments now. =P Might get annoying after a while.
