i love celtic music! in fact it's been a dream of mine to sing in a celtic band. some of my favourite bands/artists are iona, solas, maire brennan, eden's bridge, mary black etc. etc. i also like the more traditional stuff, like the chieftains.

Celtic music is so awesomely cool! I like listening to it when I need to relax. I think that it's really cool that you want to be a singer in a celtic band, viking maiden!

Does anyone know these artists:
Enya
Loreena McKennitt
Melody Menia
at all? I'm just curious...I KNOW a lot of you (if not all of you) are familiar with Enya, but anyone else?

Same here! I've heard a lot of Loreena McKennitt's songs, but I'm still saving up to buy her CDs. I especially like her songs "The Highwayman" "The Prologue", "The Mummer's Dance", and one other that I can't remember the name of... I love Enya too though!!!

Oh I LOVE Celtic music! I think Enya really brought me to like it more, but I've always loved it. It's really pretty and relaxing. I don't know many except Enya and The Chieftains, but I listen to a lot when I can.

me too. one of the greatest Enya's songs:
Who can tell me if we have heaven, Who can say the way it should be; Moonlight holly, the Sappho Comet, Angel's tears below a tree. You tak of the break of morning As you view the new aurora, Cloud in crimson, the key of heaven, One love carved in acajou. One told me of China Roses, One a thousand nights and one night, Earth's last picture, the end of evening Hue of indigo and blue. A new moon leads me to Woods of dreams and I follow. A new world waits for me; My dream, my way. I know that if I have heaven There is nothing to desire. Rain and river, a world of wonder May be paradise to me. I see the sun. I see the stars.
But they're all great. i also love Morning Has Broken by Chieftains

I like Celtic music, I don't have any recordings myself, except for a few Enya songs.
Today in the car my friends had a CD of Celtic music written by a bunch of homeschoolers! It was great.

i like to write celtic style music...well i say 'write' really i just 'improvise' and sort of forget what i've played, but it gives me joy nonetheless...i've been wanting to learn irish gaelic so i can sing in the language that it was meant to be sung, but it's really difficult. i end up just copying the words the singers on the recording sing and try to imitate them, but that's all...

Yeah, I've been trying to teach myself Scottish Gaelic, but man is it tough! I love the Gaelic languages (noting that there are more than one...). I wish you luck on learning it....it's SO pretty when it's being sung.
