  • Was a member of the Chi Phi fraternity in California and in 2008 he was honoured with the fraternities Walter Cronkite Congressional Award

  • Spent 5 years as President of Fine Line Features, a speciality film division of New Line Cinema

  • Currently is a partner of Amber Entertainment, a company he launched in 2009

  • Is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences

  • Graduated in 1985 from the University of Southern California with a BA in journalism

  • Has a brother, Joel who is an executive in the entertainment, media and technology industry

  • Supports the Anti-Defamation League as a regional board member and Chair of its Entertainment Industry Committee

  • During his 20 years at New Line Cinema, he aquired or executive-produced over 60 films including the companyís first Best Picture nominee, Shine which also provided New Line with itís first major category winner; Best Actor for Geoffrey Rush

  • Was the editor of his university's paper, The Daily Trojan

  • Attended Beverly Hills high school

  • As well as being a producer, he also directed some of the second unit for The Lord of the Rings
