Hi, I just thought I'd drop a note to let you all know another new member has arrived in Middle Earth. My, it sure looks comfy here; mind if I put my feet up on the furniture? :-D
I'm Laesneniel, but if that is too much of a mouthful or "post-ful" just call me Nin or Neniel. I actually found this site while hunting for Elvish names, I poked around and instantly fell in love with the beauty of this place. I've been a LOTRS fan since I was 13, that's when I saw the Fellowship. I wasn't allowed to read the books until a year later and my brother dared me to read all three books before The Return of the King came out in theatres...and I did a few months before its opening night. Okay, hobbies: I'm very much into writing, archery (yes the bow is my weapon of choice), Irish Step Dance, and history. Nothing else to tell except I hope I have oodles of fun here with other LOTRS fans.

Thank you for the warm welcome, Morgana!

Hehe, yeah, I'm glad to see I'm not alone in goal setting! Thanks, Lembas; history is sooooooo awesome and totally worth delving into!

Hi, Feuille, thank you so much; wow, you really fence? That is super cool!

Just to warn everyone ahead of time, I'm a bit of a goofball so...you've been warned. :goofy:

Welcome to the forum Neniel. Yes, this really is a great place so do make yourself at home. I like your Faramir banner.. we don't see them so often around anymore.. it's all Leggy and the Hobbits now *sigh* :P But Faramir's Choice is so interesting in that he realised the peril before his brother did when he was faced with it - and acted accordingly although the temptation must have been almost irrisistable. :)

Ooooooh, thanks, Eä! Yes, my favorite character is Faramir, poor guy. Hehe, I used to be a Legolas fan until I read TTT, then it was love at first word! My banner... Thanks! Well, it's my first attempt at creating one, I tried to make it longer, but failed miserably. I put this one up because my second try... :erm: ...let's just say that it wasn't pretty. Faramir is the only character whose choice seems easier (in the book) to make than any of the others.

Welcome Neniel! Pull up a chair by the fire and join in on the fun! I agree, I like your Faramir banner, such an awesome character, sadly a bit overlooked. You did better than my first attempt at makin one, it was about as pretty as an orc... Look forward to chattin with you in the future! And there's nothin' wrong with goofballs, I'm one 99.999% of the time!

hi Laesneniel welcome to AU. :) I know you're going to love the place as dropping eaves is quite acceptable. :P that's very cool that you love archery. I took lessons last summer and enjoyed it, though I've only shot around a bit here and there. anyway, sorry I didn't pop in earlier to say hi, but I've been gone on summer adventures. ;) hope to see you around!

Hmm I'm not sure whether Faramir's Choice seems easier.. but perhaps he has another background and is influenced by a different personality than say Boromir when he has the Ring within his grasp. I think all the characters are being tested in their own way but Boromir is the only one who openly fails the test. It happens quite early in the story so I believe Tolkien wanted to make a point that the Ring is dangerous and corrupts minds left and right... Umm but sorry, this shouldn't turn into a lengthy book discussion.. I'm probably boring you all to death. I just wanted to say that there are plenty of graphics makers here whom you may seek inspiration of advice from if you have troubles with your graphics. :-)

Thank you, Alanna! I'm so glad to be here!
Eä, I don't mind--and in fact I would love to have--a lengthy book discussion. :-D
I always enjoy talking about things I love and LOTRS definately falls into that catagory.
I don't have paint pro shop, just paint and Irfanview, but I'll see if I can dowload a free version.
 Anyways, thank you for the info about the graphic makers.

Well, I'll do some shameless advertising for our LotR reading group. Click my Frodo banner if you want to learn more. We're reading TTT this month but people can jump in whenever and join us in the discussions. We'd love to have you. :-)
