Hey,
I haven't posted here since last year just due to RL becoming a real pain-in-the-arse, but I HAD to post this here. I've posted this at three other places already XD
Anyways... look at what just hit the front page of TORn!!
The BIG news has finally hit. A Ringer Spy who was recently in the New York offices of New Line Cinema has reported that they clearly saw 'The Hobbit' on the film schedule for 2007. Here's what the spy had to say: "Please leave my email anonymous as I have some very exciting news to report. I was in New Line's NY offices to discuss upcoming projects when I clearly saw something very intriguing on a year planner. 'The Hobbit' was clearly marked on what looked like July 2007. I couldn't exactly take a moment to investigate the calendar with my audience in the room, but it definitely said 'The Hobbit'. Lets hope this is a PJ project!"
Now, IF this is true, I imagine July 07 would begin the production of the Hobbit, and the actual movie would be released perhaps in December 08 or 09.
And IF this is true, let's hope that PJ is working on it! I heard rumor back in July that WETA has been working on some stuff, but I'm too chicken to post on their forum to ask xD
Now, I shall try and be more active XD I'm still a complete LOTR geek, but I cannot manage to keep up with forums at all ^^;
Cheers,
Laire

I do believe I will begin saving up for the premiere, just in case. Europe? Nah! New Zealand! XD
Now I am going to attempt to go to bed. I'll jump for joy with all of you at a more decent hour.
Hoping there are no pop quizzes tomorrow,
Laire

Looks like I'll be going for the NZ premiere too! I've actually got plans for going to NZ in either 08 or 09.. preferably '09.. but it all depends on 'The Hobbit' now ^^..
might see ya there ^^ lol

Are we absolutely positive about this? I've heard several accounts so far saying that PJ's next project would be The Hobbit, but each have been dismissed. I really do hope he gets started soon... that is if it's true.

alright..someone on TORN has posted this:
"A Ringer Spy with connections to WETA recently passed along a message suggesting that the Hobbit notation previously reported as appearing on a New Line Cinema schedule, might in fact be related to New Line's involvement in EA Games' "The White Council" RPG for XBox. We're not sure why NL would use the title "The Hobbit" to indicate a game with different subject matter, but we're continuing to check with our spies as information comes in!"
so it looks like it may not be happening so quickly after all .. here's another thread discussing the dates -

I saw RotK and TTT in theatres, but I didn't fully appreciate them. This time I'm going all the way - Hobbit costume and ALL!

This is certainly not the first time I've heard rumours that they're making The Hobbit. I personally am not ready quite yet to believe it, though it would be totally elven awesome if it was true... I hope it is, or at least that some day it will be made.
