ey, just curious if anyone beat the secret level in ROTK, Saruman's Palantir? I'm having trouble with the orcs on level 17, got any advice?

Ooh, I beat it like, a zillion times! Use the cheats - especially the one for undying and perfect mode. Those will really help.

Lol--and after you beat that one, you get to beat Sauron's palantĂr, too.

Without them is pretty difficult. I've only gotten to level 19 in either of them (Saruman's or Sauron's) before dying.

Um, yeah, but I simply said that I haven't gotten past level 19 without the cheats.

I've beaten both Saruman and Sauron's Palantir without the cheats. It's pretty challenging...but yeah, that's exactly what the game is for.
I suggest using Gandalf. Save his "ammo" for the trolls and never use them on orcs. If you've gotten all the upgrades you should be able, with difficulty, fight your way to the bitter end without cheats.
I've tried to make it through Saruman's with every character; It was during this attempt that i found out that i hate Merry.

I you guys talking about the RotK game... like, for PS2, or what console? I've played the PS2 1 once through, but didn't see any hidden levels... I'm playing it again a second time right now, though...

GameCube, right? Me and my brother play those levels in co-op when we have a few hours to spare...they're so aggravating...

I've only ever played ROTK on Gamecube. The Secret levels are most defiantly challenging. I reserved all my "ammo" for larger beings and just hacked away at smaller ones. I never owned the game *tear* and I haven't played it for a while but the only advice I can give for these levels is: Pick your best character, conserve "ammo" for bigger enemies, and use the combination attacks.
If you don't want to use cheats that is. I never use them myself, I feel it takes the fun out of the game.
