Post subject: | The Quenya Speaking Thread: Converse in Quenya Here! |
I specially created this thread for those who actually fully [[or somewhat]] know enough Quenya to be able to actually practice by having normal conversations. And so they can do that here! The purpose is to actually learn new things, new words and such from other members, and correct each other politely when we've made mistakes, ordered the words incorrectly or such. The reason why I didn't merge Sindarin into the same thread as all the other languages is that I find that I - and most other people I have spoken to - find it very confusing and difficult to have a conversation in Quenya with a whole bunch of other Elven languages going on around them. It confuses everyone and I thought it way easier and effective to actually make conversation threads for each one of the languages that people want to speak. Now, we all know there is an Elvish-speaking Club already, but that club contains five different languages being spoken at once, and from what I have seen of that thread, nobody has spoken in any form of Elvish throughout their five pages of conversation, which really makes me wonder. Anyway, I have made the exact same thread with the exact same message for those who would like to speak Sindarin instead of Quenya, and hopefully people will understand what I mean [[the above]]. Of course those who would like to learn both can go ahead and talk in both threads ![]() Mind you, there has to be some Quenya in every post you make, in order to get our Elvish working. x..Haldir..x ------------------------------------------- Would someone like to start? I am not learning Quenya, so I can't really start. ![]() |

I wast thinking up sentances last night. I hope they are right. Nan cul soron I am a golden red eagle Faramir queta nan melro* Faramir says I am his love. * I could not fing a way to say "his" To say "her" You add ry to the end, and I just changed y to o, hoping that made it masculine. I'm probably wrong. Lantelmet i vilyaello We fell from the sky. I just started making sentances last night, so I am probablt wrong in a few parts. Oh well, I'll learn. That's what this thread is for. |

Elanor, Tanca isn't a word i'm familiar with. Could you tell me it's meaning? ![]() ![]() Nauriel: Nan and soron are good. I'm not familiar with cul, but it could be that i just haven't heard of it. (I do know that laurea is golden and carne is red.) As far as i know, -rya/-rye is for both him/he and her/she. So you could say, meldarya (lit. his dear one ![]() We fell would actually be "lantanelme (lanta- to fall + -ne- past tense + -lme we [exclusive] ) ![]() ![]() Other than that, good work!
