When....
You've written several fanfics on the works of Tolkien.
You despise anyone who who thinks of elves as "santa's little helpers" (very stereotypical, I might add)
All of your friends just take one look at your screen name and tell you the next day how incredibly obsessed you are.
You speak a form(s) of Elvish and scream constantly at your friends for asking what that note you wrote them said....
All of your friends are scared to say anything for fear of hearing one of your quotes.
You watch any movie with a LotR actor/ress in it, and any movie with an actor who played WITH them in any movie.
You have a site dedicated to it.
The majority of your messenger contacts are friends on a LotR fansite of some kind.
Your family is now obsessed. (Kuahaha)
You're constantly asking if your Pepsi comes in pints.

I haven't read all the things here, but I'm pretty sure I'm guilty of most of them. Maybe these are some new ones:
-You can't find your keys and start screaming edro!
-You get into a snowstorm while taking your dog on a walk and take the way back trough the dungeons
-You named your pets after LOTR characters or you're going to name your kid's after one (like my parents did)

I wanted to name our dog Lissi, which is elvish for sweet, but my sister forbade it, so we call her Honey. But I call her Lissi behind sis' back! HAHAHAA!
Got another one! You know your obsessed when... LOTR characters are reoccuring characters in your dreams.

Lothril, then I'm very guilty of reading The Forgotten - it was one of my first fics I've ever read. I aslo tried to write one myself but I failed miserably.
