NOpe... I did notice that, too, though. Thought it was interesting.

I think there is something about C.S. Lewis and JRR Tolkien, but I am not up with all of the details.

Well, they were close friends and members of a writing "club" called the Inklings. Is that what you mean?

Well, I wouldn't say 'striking resemblance'.
To me they just look the way people imagine old maps to be like... a little brownish, old tortuous font and perhaps a little burned on the edges! :P
And the similarities make a lot of sense if the same people worked on both maps. Interesting observation though!

(Where did you find the Tolkien map? And what kind of site is that?)

Yeah that's very interesting indeed. I guess the maps are so similar, because Tolkien and Lewis were such close friends. I don't really know anything about it though

Both maps were created for the films by calligrapher Daniel Reeve.

thanks for that information. I think that also explains why they are similar.

Well, Tolkien and CS Lewis were, like, best friends, so maybe that had something to do with it?

I don't think that CS Lewis and Tolkein ebing freinds has anything to do with it. Intresting point though, it was Lewis that suggested that Tolkien should draw a map, ahlfway though a reader of part of TTT
