It is. Like if I remember correctly, Sindarin names were based off Welsh names.

The Welsh influence as JRRT once put it...

"The changes worked on Sindarin [from Common Eldarin] very closely (and deliberately) resemble those which produced the modern and mediaeval Welsh from ancient Celtic, so that in the result Sindarin has a marked Welsh style, and the relations between it and Quenya closely resemble those between Welsh and Latin."

Gandalf is simply my favorite M-e character, in books and movies. And his Maiar name is Olorin. Since both of those might have been in use already, I simply combined them in a way that sounded natural to me (Gandalfolorin just felt like too much of a mouthful). I think someone here did the same with Gollum’s two names? Smeagollum?

When I first registered on the site, I did so as Éowyn_Shieldmaiden as I am a fan of book Éowyn.

The Evil~Shieldmaiden actually comes from another site where I was formerly known as Éomer_Sister. When I joined the Corrupted faction in the Realm of which I am a member, I officially changed it to Evil~Shieldmaiden to 1) indicate my new status as a member of the Corrupted side; and 2) to maintain my epithet of "ES".

I liked my new name so much I changed it on this site as well.
