Raunien nodded. "My leg..." he said softly. "I was hunting and I fell. My knee is injured, I don't know how badly. But I had to hunt today. I haven't got any food left."

She motioned him over. "I will build a fire to heat some water. Let's take a look at it." she began building the fire, and soon had it going fairly strong while she hung the water over it. "How exactly did you fall on it, child?"

She nodded and gently inspected his knee. "It looks a bit bruised, possibly sprained.." she murmured, then soaked strips of cloth in the hot water. She dug in her bag again and pulled out various herbs. "I will crush these and mix them into a poultice that should help with the pain."

"I never travel without it." she handed him a bag that held fruit, berries, smoked meat, and bread. "Have all you want." she ground the herbs and mixed them with water, then applied it to his knee. She then placed the hit cloths around his knee, applying heat and comfort through the bandages.

Raunien greatfully accepted the food and the treatment to his knee. "Thank you." he said again. Or at least that was what he tried to say. Thru a mouthful of food it sounded more like, "Mank moo."

Raunien shrugged. "Nowhere really. My father was from Mirkwood, my mother was human. I don't really remember either of them. Only vauge images. My mother smiling, my father singing. My mother weeping....I grew up in an orphanage. Left as soon as I could. I hated it there. The other kids teased me about being half-breed. I can't really say its all that great. I've been on my own for a while now. Don't know how long. Haven't kept track."
