"Then, goodbye and good riddance!" Nessa said annoyed.

"Nessa..." Tawry warned.

"What? This man won't tell us who he is, keeps saying he doesn't need our help. Let's let him go!" As she said this, her eyes communicated what her voice did not: "We will follow him."

"I agree." Marlyn said, glancing at Nessa. She was sure she had the same thought she had. As much as she had come to detest this man, she couldn't very well let him kill himself. "I guess you should be on your way sir."

Cale glared at all of them, then disappeared into the shadows, almost melting away before their eyes. He began to run, sprinting noiselessly through the trees.

Marylyn mounted her horse, and leaned into his neck. "Be quiet and swift," she whispered in elvish. Marylyn straightened her back and looked to her companions.

Marylyn urged her horse forward. He moved quietly between the trees, gathering speed gradually. Marylyn stared down at the ground, tracking the unknown mans movements and changes of direction.

He slide into the shadows, waiting for them to pass. If they followed him, the little girl with the possessed one would die. He couldn't allow that.

Marylyn managed to just catch his movement. She rolled her eyes, and looked back to her companions. With a flick of her hand, she motioned for them to follow her to the side out of the man's view. She would let him think they weren't following him.

He watched them, growling in frustration. "Do you take me for a fool? I told you not ya follow me!" he sneered at them.

Nessa followed them silently, even jumping a little when the man next spoke.
"Oh, stop being so difficult!" she exclaimed. "You know we want to help, just let us!"

Tawry watched the man intently. "Sir," he said. "I've known Nessa for years. No matter what you do, she'll follow you."
He smiled as he remembered the first day they met. Nessa HAD followed him, no matter how much he had tried to evade her.

"You will have to give into us eventually." Marylyn sighed faintly as she folded her golden tresses behind her pointed ears. "Is it not about time you just let us help? Five heads are better than one," she chuckled faintly.

"I told you! He has a child with him and will kill her unless I show up alone!" he shouted, furious. "Get away from me for the last time! Do you want her to die?!"

"No. No I do not want anyone to die because of one man's misdeed." Nessa said, slowly. "Even you."

"Like Marylyn said: five heads are better than one. We can find a way to outsmart him while keeping the child safe." Tawry said.
