Maethoriel's mouth split in what was supposed to be a friendly grin, but it felt awkward and more or less resembled a leer and so she let it fall back into a straight line. One hand raked through her matted hair before jutting forward pointing at the king in a dramatic gesture. The outstretched finger was then placed upon her nose to show that he was correct.

"Yes, I am Maethoriel..." She said said, letting her eyes drift over the man only to rest on Durion as he spoke. She shrugged her shoulders at his comment and let out a short laugh, " Neither could I. It always proved for better entrances in my opinion. Surprise is so much more entertaining than being announced and expected, do you not agree?"

"Peace, my friend," Aragorn said quietly, turning his gaze to Durion a moment. He looked back to Maethoriel and addressed her. "Durion has asked to take council with me," he said calmly, letting her know she was interrupting. "We have much to discuss. What brings you here?"

"Entertaining it might be.." Dûrion replied calmly taking his pipe out of his pocket again. "Captain Leuwynn has to correct me if customs have changed for I haven't been here for a long time- but such an entrance is still considered as rude." He smiled at Leuwynn and then quietly lit his pipe. When Aragorn prayed him to be silent he held his tongue. He did not want to displease his friend and kept himself to smoking his favourite pipe weed.

Maethoriel smirked at the ranger and replied, "Do I look like one who would particularly care about customs or any other such nonsense?" Her brow quirked upward questioningly. She turned back towards Aragorn and once again leaned over her cane to keep steady.

"Trouble, as always. Starting, joining - who knows? Maybe I shall even stop a bit of it this time?" Her vague answer was accompanied with an equally vague wave of her hand. "However, I am in your throne room for the sole reason that my curiosity drew me here. I am keen to see what has this one," shed jerked her head toward Durion; "wrapped so tight," she offered more truthfully.

Aragorn was silent at this, glancing over at the ranger for any sign of objection, his brow raised.. He himself had nothing against the notion of Maethoriel staying.

(( Gah, shortie post... ))

"You might not care about customs Madam." Dûrion groaned in response when Aragorn looked at him as if asking his opinion. "But the King does. You're at his court." For a moment the Ranger was silent, inhaled some smook and exhaling it coughingly. At first sight he did not like this Elf. Her denigrating tone of when she spoke of him displeased him, especially since he was a stranger to her. It proved her to possess arrogance which she thought permitted her to do whatever she liked.
"My words.." he continued "are meant for the King alone. After that he may decide what to do with them."
In the light of the fire his dark eyes seemed to flame, his hair wild, he looked more fearsome then before. His appearance honoured his name.

Aragorn nodded slowly, then addressed the woman. "I'm sorry, then. I'm afraid you can't stay-"

He was interrupted by another whoosh of the doors opening as the two guards who had been watching the door in the courtyard came in, Taevi between them. The half-elf looked utterly terrified, his already pale skin as white as a sheet as he glanced around the hall.

"Sorry to disturb you, my Lord," one of the men spoke. "But we found this one trespassing in the courtyard outside. I've never seen him before, Harren hasn't either." He nodded to his fellow guardsmen as he said this. "We thought it best to bring him to you."

Leuwynn rose to his feet angrily. "What is the meaning of this? Let him go!"

(( Can someone else switch off as Aragorn for a bit? ))

[ I will ;) ]

Aragorn's blue eyes were now directed at the guards. He looked at them with surprise and gestured the guards to let go of the Half-Elf.
"Why do you bring this man to me? Has he done you any harm?" He smiled kindly at Taevi as if to reassure him and glanced for a moment at his Captain who seemed to be aqcuinted with the Elf, judging from his response.
"I'm sure this man was just enjoying the splendid weather while going for a stroll..?"

Another grin spread across her scarred face. She admired the young man's spirit, but was hardly in the mood to listen.

"Sir, I have disregarded all such rules for time out of mind. Little Estel is no different from any other man who has sat on that throne save he has just won a war. But, as it goes for those of us given immortality wars come and go in a constant circle, and unless Estel has been able to completely rid the world of evil -which is entirely impossible as we all know - I shall continue as I always have," she replied to the man who looked to intimidate her. That nearly brought a laugh, there were now only two living beings that could ever cause her any fright: one lived in the depths of Mordor - at least her children did, and the other she needed to see before the day was out.

The half-elf wheeled about to face Taevi and took in his sorry condition, it touched a slight nerve as he somewhat resembled an old friend.

A flash of pity crossed over her face and her eyes melted and before she could stop her voice she said: "Poor dear, you have scared him out of his mind," she coughed and cracked her neck regaining her former uncaring air.

"The healers have been looking for him..." her sentence petered off at the end as she vaguely recalled that her previous intent had been to follow the boy; another shake of her head brought her out of her short reverie and her eyes fixed onto the guards holding him.

Taevi shifted quickly away from the guardsmen as they let him go with muttered apologies at the mistake (perhaps mores o unnerved by the woman's stare then Aragorn's words), and positioned himself halfway between Maethoriel and Leuwynn. He felt intensely grateful for the familiar faces.

His gaze shifted anxiously as the king spoke, giving a slight nod. "Yes, sir," he murmured quickly. His shaken state was bordering on pathetic, but one could hardly blame him. He didn't much care for being touched, let alone grabbed and carelessly escorted to an unfamiliar place.

Leuwynn settled himself back down in his chair, giving Durion a look that clearly agreed with his stance on Maethoriel's lack of respect.

Deawen straightened to her full height and took a step into the throne room. She swept into the room in a flurry of velvet skirts. " Your Majesty," Deawen called formally, her voice echoing back to her. She smiled slightly as she curtsied gracefully. Her eyes flicked over to Taevi assesing any harm done to him, mentally or physically.
" I am Lady Deawen of the Westfolde, Daughter of Thoewend." she said as she bowed her head to the others. " I have come to fetch my friend."

Valya followed Deawen hastily into the throne room. Her bright blue eyes wide and shocked, she swept a deep curtsy to the king, wondering at Deawen's boldness, how a seventeen-year-old girl could possess such dignity.
She stepped forward past her slightly. "Taevi is my patient," she said quietly. "We wish to make it clear that he is no harm, and to take him back to the houses of healing. He was lost only."
She cast a disapproving gaze at the guards that had taken Taevi into the throneroom.

Maethoriel walked forward and gave Taevi a relatively kind squeeze on his shoulder and a reassuring nod.

Grair stood next to Deawen holding Maethoriel's gaze, the two were having what seemed to be a small war of wills and neither looked about to give in.

"Turn my back for a moment and you break into a palace," he said shortly to the woman who had stepped toward him, leaving the other half-Elf be.

"You cannot have expected me to just stay in one place," she rejoined.

The dwarf snorted and raised a brow. "Broke a stitch?" He asked looking at the growing red spot under her cloak.

She shrugged. "I shall fix it later."

Grair shook his head and crossed his arms looking quite annoyed by her nonchalant attitude. He would have liked for her to show a little more care for herself rather than gallivanting about causing herself more injury.

Dûrion's face twitched as he listened to Maethoriel's reprimand but said no more. He now remembered why he avoided people and liked solitude. Then suddenly the one after the other seemed to burst into the Hall, without any obvious reasons. The man beheld the scene with wonder, feeling quite out of his place.
If Telcontar did not tell the Elf what her place was than she either had to be a very close acquintance or from high standing. In both cases he felt redundant. With another annoyed glance at this chaos, he silently rose and disappeared in the shadows, leaving the Hall.

Aragorn frowned, rising to his feet. "You shouldn't have done that," he said, his voice calm but firm as he addressed Maethoriel. "I would ask you to show more respect when you come here, my friend."

Taevi shifted nervously on his feet. He didn't like conflict, it made him feel even more nervous then usual. He stuck close to Deawen, looking anxiously at the door.

Deawen felt Taevi's nervousness and instantly she want to take him from the throne room but she stayed motionless, as the king had not adressed her or even given her leave to go.
