As Turwaithion's horse lurched over Arwen tumbled to the ground. Cringing, she climbed to her feet swiftly and unshouldered her bow, poising an arrow in it. "Yrch," she muttered, falling into her own tongue.
(Yrch is elvish for orcs ^^ yay, i know an elvish word! lol)

((This will be my final god-mod))
Turwaithion cused as arrows and orcs surged from the trees. He was veunerable. Arrows rebounded from his armour, but then he cursed. A lone archer set the elf in his sights, aiming for his exposed throat. stranded and pinned down, Turwaithion was trapped. The shaft was loosed, and Turwaithion prepared for the impact. However, it never came. Wordlessly, Turwaithiel had thrown herself in the arrow's path. Her knees buckled and she toppled over, silenty.
Turwaithion suged forward. These orcs had taken too many lives. Turwaithiel had taken a shaft mean for him. His blade cut a swath through the yrch, staining thr trees black with thier blood. Turwaithion lifted the archer responsible up by it's throat, flourished his sword by his side, and slit the orc's throat. Leaving him to gasp out his last, he clove the skull of another in two "For the Eldar!"

"Turwaithiel!" Arwen shouldered her bow and rushed to the side of the fallen elf. She was pale and cold, the warmth drained from her. Arwen realised that she was dead. Taking a deep breath, she murmured an elvish blessing over her and slowly rose to her feet.

Stabbing the last of the orcs. Turwaithin turned to survey the carnage. Three elves lay dead. Kneeling by Turwaithiel's corps, he shook his head "That arrow was meant for me" he hissed "Why did she take it? Too many lives have been lost." he said,, moving to Calam and Durion. lifting the latter elf's head, he grimaced "His ganddaughter was only a few months old when he returned here." he choked out "Durion was like a father to me. He and Istuion." Yurning, he sliped into the trees, away from the field, to regain control of himself.

Arwen looked over her shoulder as Turwaithion walked away into the trees. She looked at the dead bodies around her. "They will find peace away from the confines of this world," she murmured.

(Oh my, I go to bed and I miss so much)
Anira sheathed her blades as she surveyed the carnage of the battlefield, her eyes falling last upon Turwaithiel. Of all in the company, she had been felt the closest to the fallen she-elf, they had both grown up in Greenwood. In the end, she had died how she lived-sacrificing her life for another. Anira absently-mindedly curled her fist in an unseen rage. This was another loss she had to live with. How many more must I see perish? she thought in anguish. By Eru, I promise that the dark forces shall pay dearly for this.

Turwaithion leaned against a tree, pinching the bridge of his nose between his thumb and forefinger. Taking a breath, Turwaithion smashed his fists against his breastplate, and emerged from the brush "We will avenge them. That I promise you." He said grimly. Then, he unbuckled Durion and Calam's swords, slipping them into his bedroll. "These will go to thier families" he said quietly, turning to Anira "Do you know if Turwaithiel had any kin?" he asked.

Anira nodded. "As far as I am aware, her father, a noble elf by the name of Tegalad, and her brother, Veryangóle, still live." she said quietly.

Turwaithion nodded, and picked up the she-elf's weapons "So be it. Could you return these to her, when you return?" he asked Anira

Anira nodded as she took the weapons from Turwaithion and held them as if they were a treasure. "I shall return them to her kin," came her reply. "It will be my honor to do so..." she finally managed to say, keeping her voice as steady as possible.

Turwaithion nodded, then pulled a small spade from his saddlebag "I have done this too many times" he sighed, breaking the sod.

Arwen removed a spade from her bag and knelt down on the earth. "I will help you, mellon nin. One person alone cannot dig three graves." She paused as she started to dig, and then softly started to sing a lament, as was the way of her people.
"You are not bound to loss and silence. For you are not bound to the circles of this world. All things must pass away, All life is doomed to fade… Sorrowing you must go, and yet you are not without hope."
(Alas, the song is not mine... it's a translation into English from the LOTR track "Breath of Life".)

Turwaithoin nodded as the tune ended, and continued until he waup to his waist in the earth. Climbing out, he picked up Turwaithiel's body and laid it in the grave, then covered it. Murmuring a blessing, he turned to dif another, for Durion.

When all the elves were buried, Arwen rose to her feet. "I am only one century old, but I have seen many deaths," she said quietly. "And this I know. It is not for us to grieve their passing. For they may never see Valinor, but their spirits are strong, and will find their way to the world outside ours; where the trees grow evergreen and the sea laps at the shoreside." Bowing her head, she stepped away from the graves.

Turwaithion nodded. Slowly, he laid each of the Marchwarden's bows on thier graves, and marked Turwaithiels with a round stone. "Be at peace" he said, mounting his horse "You are right in that respect, Arwen" he said to the young elf "but what consolation can we give families? Fathers, brothers, sons, daughters who will never return home" Turwaithion sighed and gave Fyrn's reins a gentle tug, to turn the mare "They will live on in our memories. The creatures of Morgoth Bauglir will pay dearly for this" he vowed through gritted teeth.

"There is no consolation for families, no." Arwen looked around the field, at the orc-bodies scattered around, at the graves. "I remember when my brothers were brought home dead, cut down by orcs. They had patrolled different boarders to me. My parents were devastated, they were elves of the court. They could not bear that we had chosen lives away from that. My brothers were buried as heroes. But my mother and father... never recovered."
