Rienna whirled to go, remembered a curtsy but neglected to perform it, and led the horse back to a large stable. She directed a stable boy to make it comfortable and leaned against a wall, watching as he did so and wondering how the audience with Denethor was progressing.

Turwaithiel turned to hide an smile as the gaurd was having some trouble following her orders. Turwaithiel then turned and whispered to Rhavaniel, "I think we'd better meet with Denthor. The clouds..." She pointed at the clouds, which where an grayish black at the moment.

((I am SOOO Sorry, I haven't been online latly Please forgive me!))

Gandalf walked into the Hall of Kings, where no king lived now. His face was grim as he thought about what was to come in the near future. Denethor had to have some sence left in him. He continued to walk up to Denethor with great haste.
"Will you not change your mind on this war? You must call to Rohan. Or else victory is a lost cause." He gazed up at the Steward, and then back for he had noticed that the guards did not allow Turwaithiel to pass. "It seems that that is the case."

Rienna made sure the elf's horse was comfortable and raced back upstairs, taking the steps two at a time and arriving rosy-cheeked and panting. She looked around for the elf.

Denethor gave Gandalf exactly what he had expected, an ill favored look and then a dismissle.
Turning his back to the Steward Gandalf started to leave the hall. He turned slightly and said one final thing:
"War will come swiftly to you."
It was then that he swung the large door open -- before any of the guards did-- and stepped outside. The sky was turning blacker than ever before seen above the White City.
'Denethor will not help us.' He said silently to himself as he stepped under the Tree of Kings.

Rienna looked shocked and disappointed. Forgetting that she was only a peasant Gondorian and Gandalf a wizard of the highest renown, she took an impulsive few steps toward him and said pleadingly, "Is there nothing he will do?"

Gandalf was then pulled out of his minds wandering. He looked down at the Gondorian who stood before him. A slight and gentle smile curled upon his lips. "There is nothing that he can do, that will change my views on the matter. We must look to our allies and hope that they will look to us, and bring help. Your steward will find this to be the best before the end. Come, tell me your name."
Gandalf looked to the sky once more waiting for a responce.

Rienna gave a little half-smile. "I'm Rienna," she said quietly, her eyes drifting uneasily over to the gathering storm over Mordor.

(there is nothing to forgive, mellon. awesome sig btw.)

Turwaithiel saw Gandalf talking to the nice young woman whom helped her cousin out. She walked over and stood beside the woman, smiling at her and nodding her head in an greeting. Then she turned to Gandalf. She bowed her head low. "Mithrandir, I have heard of Denothor's dimiss and if he will not act, I will. I may not live here but I will not see the white city fall, not without death to come to me." Turwaithiel said, her face flush at getting so heated up.

Rienna tried to seem capable and knowledgeable about what was happening but she was beginning to be afraid and the presence of Gandalf and this other elf was intimidating her. She felt torn - to act without the Steward's permission was not something to be done lightly.

Turwaithiel sensed the woman's discomfort and turn to her, saying lightly, "I know what I'm doing my seem rash, and if you don't want to, you don't have to be an part of this..."

((Thankyou, for forgiving me, and for the compliment. I created my sig, in fact. :) ))

Gandalf looked upon the two women who stood before him. He felt a smile come to his face as he thought about how brave the pair was. It was a great sight in his eyes, that one could help so much in a time of need.
"Rash, is a harsh word for your actions." He directed at Turwaithiel. "And, do not feel afraid, Rienna. After all, everyone has a purpose here. It will all start soon, but I have a favor to ask of you, will you go to the stables and collect Shadowfax for me? Bring your horse as well, you may be needed, as well." The final request he posed to the two standing before him. "Courage is not something to be forced." He finished while turning and looking at the doors of the hall.

Rienna smiled shyly and went, absently twisting a strand of her flaming red hair as she walked. She came to the stables and looked in awe at Shadowfax, the last of the Mearas, and timidly put her hand out to stroke his nose.

Gandalf watched the young maiden as she left. When she had left and the elf lingered he stood still. A long moment past before he continued to walk only stoppping at the waist high wall at the edge of the courtyard. The scene was grim, and the color of the sky, dull.

(I thought so...)

Turwaithiel nodded to Gandalf, saying, "Hannon Le, Mithrandir." right before he left to look over the side of the Great White City. She stood and looked again at the tree. The sight of an withering tree burned her heart, causing her to get ready mentally for war.

Gandalf stood thinking. Rohan must come, I must alert them. His mind soon went to Pippin, who was now serving under the King. He would have him climb up and light the first beacon.
As he waited he thought out his plan carefully.
