Markus' eyes followed Luna's to where they rested. "Yes, it can bring peace to the most turmoiled of hearts." Again he could not help thinking about what he had overheard. Was this peaceful place really threatened? What power stood to take all that he and his people held dear? His brow furrowed slightly. He would definately have to speak to his sister about this. He could not stand idly by while his people were killed and his home destroyed. He had only just got it back.

"Come, sit with me." she turned to look at him and patted the rock next to her. "You have much on your mind, and could benefit from a small break." she could tell something was plaguing him.

Markus was about to refuse, but on a second thought decided that it would probably best to take a moment. It would not do well to burst into his sisters chambers, guns blazing. He climbed up into Luna's tree and sat beside her. "Enjoying your stay?" He asked quietly, peering down at the ground.

"Yes, very much so. I never dreamed this place would be so beautiful." she said quietly, studying him. "What is it?" she suddenly asked, touching his shoulder gently.

Markus frowned deeply, although surprised by her touch. "I cannot be sure, but I think this beautiful place is in danger. I overheard two of the guard talking..." He trailed off into thought. Before his eyes he could see the forest burn and fade away into ash.

"Danger?" she echoed, her voice quiet. "Do you know, from what?" she asked, the hand on his shoulder giving a slight tremor.

Without thought, Markus reached up to his shoulder and grasped Luna's hand. "I know not what could threaten this place. However, from the way the guard were speaking, it is something big...or at the very least a big number..."

"Do you think it is the armies of the dark lord?" she questioned, almost fearfully. She grasped his hand and held it. "Who can we go to?"

Markus frowned deeply. Long had he been out of touch with the world. He regretted not knowing what faced them and how to defeat it. "I cannot be sure. If it gets worse I shall send you and Sirel somewhere safe. I will not risk your lives."

"If something is threatening this place, I intend to stay and fight." she said slowly and seriously. "I will not sit by and do nothing for the sake of being 'safe'."

"You might want to wait and make that decision after we have found out what plans to threaten the very thing we elves hold dear." Markus warned, glancing over at Luna. "There are many great things in this world. Not all of them good."

"Should I not be willing to protect it, no matter what the cost?" she whispered, meeting his gaze seriously.

Markus smiled warmly. "Spoken like a true warrior," he murmured thoughtfully. "I guess we should go and find out what all the fuss is about then." He dropped down from the branch, landing delicately on his feet. He looked up at Luna, waiting for her to follow him.

Luna easily swooped down and landed next to him, then straightened. "Shall we talk to Lady Galadriel?"

"I think Lady Galadriel will have enough on her mind without answering our questions. Marylyn is bound to know what is going on though. You cannot be married to the head of the guard without knowing the goings on of the guard." He offered his arm to Luna before setting off for Marylyn's room.

Luna took his offered arm and walked beside him. "I hope they have answers, and I hope the problems that are arising can be solved without death.."
