Thoril snickered faintly. He had called his mother many things, mostly in anger, a doll was not one of them. He knew, deep down, that his mother only wanted what was best for him and she cared for him the only way she knew how too, even if it was overbearing. "She is that," he added with a chuckle. "I am sure she will love you almost as much as I do. How could she not?"

Callie blushed and grinned. "Does she know we are already living together?" it was her turn to snicker.

Thoril grimaced slightly. "You see," he hesitated. "My mother is very traditional." Thoril wrinkled his nose slightly. "My mother and father only began to live together after they were married." He ran his hand through his hair. "After losing my father I did not want to have her worrying about my soul." He trailed off into silence pondering his mother's values and what she would think should she find out they were not passed on to him.

"I shan't say a word." she promised. She had had a feeling his mother would be traditional. She didn't like lying, but she would rather save him from the potential wrath of his mother.

Thoril could sense Callie's discomfort. "I am sorry. I wanted to tell her. I really did. She was just so heartbroken without my father. I could not bare to break her heart any more than what it already was." Thoril frowned deeply. "We will tell her. She will be happy and we shall not accept anything less."

She smiled softly at him. "We will do what you think is best," she looked around. They were in an open field. "I really cannot wait to meet her." her eyes crinkled at the edges as she grinned.

"You do not have much longer to wait, my dear." Thoril chuckled softly, sensing her excitement. "She will adore you, I just know it. You're everything she ever wanted for me." He snickered as his mind turned to memories. One memory in particular. He was alot younger and had his first girlfriend. She was pretty, but not to his mother's standard. Even worse was her manners. Thoril shuddered as his mothers disappointed expression swam before his eyes. Yes Callie was perfect. Thoril was sure he would love her even if his mother didn't approve. He had never felt this way before.

Callie grinned. "Too bad my father wasn't around to scare your boots off." she ahook he head as she remembered. She looked sideways at Thoril. "Are you a..a competitive person, Sir Thoril?" her eyes twinkled with mischief.

Thoril stopped in his tracks, raising his head. "And just what about me would your father not approve of?" He picked at his sleeves, straightening them. He chuckled softly, raising a brow at Callie. "Now, miss, what exactly do you have in mind?" He cantered over to her. "A race perhaps?" he stifled a chuckle, trying to keep a serious demeanor.

"Oh he would approve of you. He just likes to scare men off. And perhaps a race.." she stated regally, stopping her her horse beside his. She tilted her head to raise a brow at him.

Thoril aligned his horse with Callies, a smug smile upon his face. "Shall we make this more interesting?" He asked, raising a brow to her as his hands tightened on the reigns of his horse. His horse tapped the ground in anticipation, feeling the tension in his riders pose. He snorted excitedly, staring ahead at the open field before them.

"And how can we make a race more interesting?" she grinned at him, a child like grin. She held the reins as her horse pawed the ground and arched its neck.

"Hmm..." Thoril stroked his chin teasingly. "Lets see...Last one to cross the boundary of Gondor must become the victors slave for a day. What do you think?" He glanced at Callie, stifling a snicker.

"Deal." she grinned. "And...Go!" she suddenly cried, spurring her horse onward with a laugh of glee.

Thoril snickered behind her as his horse shot out, covering the ground between them. "I love you Callie," he whispered to her as he passed her with ease.

"I love you too," she whispered back as she urged her mount on faster, catching up to him, their horses neck to neck. She reached out briefly to touch his cheek, then pulled forward ahead of him.
