"Stranded them in the tree house by taking down the ladder...they were up there from morning until late afternoon before my mother found out and made me put the ladder back up. Nearly got my hide tanned for that one. Then there was the time I bribed them to steal mum's fresh baked pie. That didn't go over well." she laughed, kicking the water with her feet "Felt like in stood in the corner for days on that one! Mother and father didn't quite know what todo with me." her eyes twinkled with humor and memory as she spoke.

Thoril guffawed with laughter. "Oh my! Your parents must have loved you," he teased her. "Do you visit your family from time to time?" He asked curiously.

"Oh, yes, they couldn't get enough of me!" she made a face in good humor. "My parents sailed to the Grey Havens, and my brothers were gripped by the same wanderlust I was. Haven't seen them in years." she said with a smile. She missed her family, but she was content. "What of your family? Do you visit them?"

"At least you are all content." Thoril shifted uncomfortably, but answered her question all the same. "I am afraid I have not seen nor heard from my family since I left Gondor." He smiled faintly. "I would return and visit them had I not been exiled for bad behaviour." He watched her face, waiting for the shock and horror, a small smirk playing on his face.

She blinked "Exiled? Bad behavior? Forgive me, but surely there was some mistake. Your character is not one of shifty eyes. I find it very difficult to believe you had bad behavior." she tilted her head "I apologize, I meant not to dredge up old wounds and painful memories."

Thoril chuckled softly. "If only they had seen me as you see me," he winked at her. "The memories are not painful really. No appologies necessary. For if my past did not happen, I would not be sitting here talking to a charming elf." Thoril lay back on his elbows. "You see, I have no siblings. However I did have mischevious twins for friends. It had been decreed that no man or woman could enroll on the guard until they were eighteen. The twins were outraged and late one night snuck into the armoury and made away with several of the guards swords. The intelligent swines planted them in my room. Spent six months in the cells for that one. And I could not join the guard until I was nineteen!" There was a certain indignation to his tone, although a genuine smile was upon his face.

She watched him as he spoke, amazed he was not bitter about it. "But, that did not get you exiled?" she asked suddenly, turning so she faced him, curiosity dancing in her eyes.

"No that did not get me exiled. It was a majority of things really, but I am sure the following tale was the straw that broke the camel's back." He gazed at her, smiling. "The twin's family was a modest family and did not earn as much as my own family did. However that did not stop the twin's materialistic character. They often stole items of clothing from me or the latest toy. Basically whatever they could lay their hands on. One night the twins decided to go out and get drunk. I passed up on the opportunity, knowing my time would be better spent studying. In a drunk stupour the twins found their way to a stable.." he paused momentarily. "...And in this stable they decided to have a smoke. I guess half way through they fell asleep. The fire spread throughout the stable and a large part of the second level. Cost the council a fortune to repair. I guess the twins snuck out in the chaos. All that was left behind were two of my very best jackets. Shortly after that I was asked to leave."

"I am sorry." she set her hand on his shoulder "That is not justice." she gave a gentle squeeze before reclaiming her hand. "So you have been traveling ever since..." it was more a statement than a question, Abd her brow furrowed slightly, annoyed at the injustice of it all. "You would think they would wonder why there were two jackets..." she wondered out loud.

"It is no justice, but the conclusion behind a lazy mind. A lazy mind that is probably long over-due retirement." An odd sensation trickled through Thoril's body as Callie laid her hand upon his shoulder. He liked it. "I did ask how they could explain the two coats. They fancied I had been on a hot date." Thoril rolled his eyes. "I am a man of tradition. No date of mine involves taking me date to see my horse." He chuckled faintly, a tremour of sorrow hitting him square in the chest. "Poor Treacle would have gotten jealous anyway."

"I am sorry." she could sense the sorrow from him, guessing his horse had been lost in the fire. "I wish it had not happened." she met his gaze, showing him that she was sincere.

Thoril gazed at her, smiling warmly. "Thank you," he said softly. "At least she is at peace now." Out of habit, Thoril glanced up at the sky.

She smiled "Indeed." she stood and began to wade out into the little pool, "At least you have some good memories of her." she looked over her shoulder with genuine warmth.

"Very true," he nodded, returning a warm smile. "I do hope the water is not too cold." Thoril snickered as he watched her float gracefully into the water.

"Actually, the water feels great." she laughed and splashed him to prove her point before wading a bit deeper. "Are you setting up in the inn for the night?" she asked casually.

"Hey!" Thoril exclaimed through laughter. He wiped himself down as he pondered her question. "I might. What about you?" he enquired casually.
