Frera grabbed a shrug that hung on the back of the door and wrapped it around her shoulders. Without a word to her son, she stepped outside and went in search for Callie.
Her search did not take long, she soon found her. Frera cleared her throat nervous, looking rather sheepish. "I'm sorry," she spoke so quietly.

Callie turned in surprise. "Frera!" she pressed a hand to her neck. "No..please don't be. It really was not our intention to hurt you." Callie folded her hands in front of her. "We just thought some company would be good for you."

Frera crossed over to a bench and motioned for Callie to join her. "I know you both meant well. I guess I just lost my mind a little. I am not sure of how to progress...without hurting anyone you see..." she looked up at the sky for a second. "I shouldn't have sparked off the way I did. It was not fair to either you or Thoril." She frowned deeply.

"Frera...with all due respect, I don't believe you would be hurting anyone." she set her hands over Frera's. "I do no mind what happened. You were upset, I understand." she gave the other woman's hands a gentle squeeze. "I think...perhaps you are worried about hurting yourself as well?"

Frera followed their hands to Callie's face. "He just left," she said simply. "He kissed me goodbye and never came back..." her shoulders shook as though she was about to cry. She managed to steal herself though. "I miss him so much..."

"I know, Frera..I know.." she wrapped her arms around Frera. "I can't imagine how that would be.." her mind flashed back to when she wasn't sure if Thoril would come back. That fear..she could only imagine what would have happened had he not come back. "If it is too early for you to move on, we understand..but moving on is not forgetting your husband, it is not hurting him...it is doing what may be best for you in the long run. Being alone in that house...it must do nothing more than fill your mind with memories of him being there, and the knowledge that he isn't now. But there is nothing wrong with having love in your life again."

Frera pondered Callie's words, hearing the truth in them. "I know. I know you are right in what you're saying, love," she smiled faintly. "I'm just an old woman, clinging on to her memories and longing for days that are long gone." Frera patted Callie's hands. "Fancy a pot of tea?" She asked, her voice brightening.

"I would love some, thank you Frera." she smiled and stood. "Let's go, before your son wonders where I've kidnapped you to."

Frera chuckled softly, her hand remaining in. Callie's. "Thank you, sweetheart," she smiled warmly. "Thank you for everything. My son has found himself a wonderful woman to marry. I have never been so proud. Proud to call you my daughter." She smiled warmly at Thoril as they entered the house. "Tea dear?" She asked. Without waiting for an answer she disappeared into the kitchen.

Thoril crossed the room and had Callie's in his arms in a heartbeat. "Everything alright? I grew worried when you didn't come inside." He pressed his lips to her forehead. "Your cold," he stated. "He walked her into the living room and sat down with her by the fire.

Callie's heart soared at those words. thank you, Frera.. she thought, a slow smile beginning to curve the edges of her lips and make little dimples in her cheeks. "I am well, Thoril. Very well." she said quietly and lifted her happy, glowing eyes to his. "Things are looking very well indeed."

Frera found Thoril and Callie in the living room. She lay a tray, which was laden with a variety of biscuits, a large pot of tea and three mugs, on to a small coffee table in front of Callie and Thoril. "Help yourselves," she said pouring herself a cup and taking a biscuit from the pile. Frera settled into a large armchair peacefully.

Thoril simply gazed into Callie's eyes, a confused smile on his face.

"So...Tell me." Frera interrupted. "What plans have you made so far, with regard to the wedding?"

"We wanted a small wedding, with you and carter. Simple, sweet. We shall also write our own vows." She smiled and took Thoril's hand and looked at him happily. "It shall be perfect."

"It certainly will be," Thoril brought her hand to his lips and kissed her gently.

"That really does sound wonderful." Frera beamed brightly. "Have you found a dress yet? Thoril, your fathers suit is in my wardrobe. I think it would look wonderful on you. I've got some jewellery that would look lovely on you too Callie."

Callie blinked in thought for a moment. "No..I don't have a dress...and thank you, Frera. That would be most generous of you!" she squeezed Thorils hand as she looked at her soon to be mother in law.

Frera smiled warmly at her soon to be daughter in law. "I shall show you the jewellery in the morning. Perhaps we can even go shopping...if you're up for it?"

Thoril chuckled inwardly as he watched the jigsaw pieces of his life clicking firmly into place. "Tell us Mother, how did it go with Carter? Seeing him again?" He watched with delight as Frera's cheeks took on a rosy tone.

"A lady does not kiss and tell my boy," she said composing herself once more. "I would be delighted to see him again though. He is after all a very sweet man."

"I would love to go shopping with you!" Callie bounced in her seat, then covered her mouth. "Oh! My apologies...I can get over excited sometimes..." at Frera's response to Thoril's question, Callie's eyes twinkled knowingly. "I believe Carter shall also receive a wedding invitation."
