Please go here and post your character before joining.

The RPG is set about 26 years after the beginning of the Fourth Age. There is now peace across the lands of Middle-earth once again. Mostly. RPG is currently set in Minas Tirith.

-----

Radiel looked out of the window. Oh, what she would give to get out of Minas Tirith, to see the rest of Middle-earth. Time was creeping its way through, too slow, she thought. What ever Rinkemen was talking about, she did not care. Not now. Her thoughts were far away, but as her name was mentioned, now loudly, her attention fell back to the presence.

"... And after the battle at Helms Deep Aragorn rode to ... Radiel? Radiel?!"

Rinkemen frowned and put the book down.
"Do i Bore you Radiel, if so maybe i should just keep my mouth shut."

Radiel looked down. Even though she had known Rinkemen for many years, she had trouble looking him into the eye when there was a question she could not find an answer to. There was a certain authority over him. After a while she spoke: "No... Rinkemen... Sir." She gave him a slight, innocent smile. "I apologize. It's just... You speak of the Great King and his companions. Of the great deeds they did, during the War of the Ring, of how they wandered many miles. When will I get to see the great world of Middle-earth?"

She sighed and said quietly, "I need to breathe, to discover the realms myself. Not hear about them from a book..."

He smiled and walked over to her.
"You are young and have your lifetime to see the world. And I would prefer you to be out in the great world, as you put it, but your mother wishes you to learn and learn you shall!"
He walked back to his desk and picked up the book, opening it back to the page he read from.

Radiel smiled slightly, and as Rinkemen continued reading, she listened the best she could. Her thoughts still wandered off now and then, but she attempted to stay as attentive as possible.

The lesson ended. She was done for the day. She nodded politely to Rinkemen, smiled and added a "Good bye!"

She stepped outside and started walking back home. It was only a three-hundred and fifty yards distance, as both Rinkemen and herself lived on the fourth level.

At once, she heard a familiar voice.

"Radiel!" Rowen called breathlessly. "I got here as fast as I could! Mother was called to the Houses of Healing today, so I had to do most of the housework." Rowen's family consisted of seven children, ranging in age from 6 to 21. She was the second youngest, at sixteen.
"So how were your lessons?" she asked as they began walking to Radiel's home. "I had hoped to get to the city archives earlier to read for a while, but like I already said, I didn't get the chance." She stopped suddenly, excitement lighting up her features.
"Did you learn about Helm's Deep yet? I've always loved the history of Rohan, it's so fascinating."

<<this character is being RPed on his own for now>>

Liran pulled his cloak closer around him, against the chill of the breeze. In the distance, he could see the smoke from a small village. He had come here before.. he would be remembered and given shelter, gladly. Those hours spent learning to play his flute had turned out to be well worth it. Not many could play as well as he, and the whole village had come to dance and sing to his music.

He tried to ignore the howling in the distance and gripped his staff tighter. He had no reason to be afraid. None at all. Those were probably not even wolves.. of course not. But he couldn't keep himself from increasing his pace. Wolves kept away from houses.

Edited for inaccurate content.

OOC: And I have permission to power play Rowen a little/OOC

Radiel smiled when she saw her friend. "Well," she said, thinking it over. "I'm more curious about how long time it would take to travel to Helms Deep, rather than hearing about the battle from a... Book." She frowned, but it soon changed into a grin.
Since Rowen insisted, Radiel told her bits of what she remembered from the day's lesson. Rowen's eyes sparkled with interest, and even though the two of them had been best friends as long as they both could remember, it reminded Radiel of how different the two of them were from each other.
"I wonder what would have happened if the rest of the Rohirrim had not come." Rowen said. Radiel shrugged.

The two walked without saying anything for a few moments, but the silence was soon broken when Radiel exclaimed. "Let us ride to Helms Deep! Let us look upon the battle field as king Elessar did in the days of old!"

At the same time a group of laughing and singing dwarwes approached the gates of Minas Tirith on two pony pulled wagons. It was a caravan from Erebor to Minas Tirith and from there to Rohan or so was the intention for now. They were trying to sell the latest works of the bronzefist clan that they all were part of.

The leader of the group sat on the first wagon bench and signed with a deep voice an old dwarf song of somesort, the gates were opened to the group and one of the dwarwes jumped down to speak with the gate guard for a while until jumped back as they continued their trip.

Borum hadn`t been in Minas Tirith in a long time, he had been only in his thirties when he had visited the great city of men and was joyed to look at the great craftmanship that it was build with. He of course pointed out that many of it was dwarwen work or at least inspired by them since they were the greatest craftsmen on middle earth all tough he himself was more into politics than making something out of materials.

The caravan stopped at a clearing and many merchants along with many people began to make their way to the dwarwes with interest of their products. Borum slammed his hand together as he jumped down after his cousin from the wagon.

"Yay... This will be a profitable day..."

Rowen laughed softly, but was met with silence. Suddenly she realized that Radiel's thought had been in earnest. She shot an incredulous look at her friend.
"Radiel, you know as well as I do that we can't just leave on a whim. We'd need horses, provisions, the journey would take days! And that's not to mention our responsibilities." She paused, staring pointedly at the thoughtful Radiel.
"And don't you dare think of running off on your own. I know you long for adventure, but you ought to at least learn about the place first. And wait until you're old enough to go by yourself."

Rinkemen sighed when she left. He felt tired after another days teaching. He put the book back on a shelf and threw his coat on. He walked out onto a fairly quiet street and began down to the local tavern, "The King's Arms" Renouned for it's quality ale and expensive prices. It was also where some of the merchants went to after a good day and where you may find some shady looking characters. As he turned a corner he bumped into Radiel's mother. She was carrying a basket full of apples which fell on the floor. Rinkemen stuttered and began picking them up and putting them back in the basket.
"Umm sorry"
Radiel's mother, Calera, tutted and smiled.
"What are we to do with you Rinkemen?" She said jokingly.
She was old but younger then Rinkemen by about 15 or 20 years and Rinkemen always had a respectful attitude, especialy to ladies. He smiled as he finished.
"How are you today Calera?"
She smiled and adjusted the basket in her arms.
"I am fine and you?"
Rinkemen nodded and smiled.
"I can't complain."
"And my daughter? How are her studies?"
He sighed and they began walking down the street.
"Well ... she is a good student apart from her lust for the world. I cannot say this is a bad thing, infact I would say her want for adventure maybe good for her. However so much is her want that she spends many hours gazing out of the window and ignoring my readings."
Calera sighed.
"She knows we pay you well Rinkemen and you are a good teacher..."
"Thank you for your kind words."
"I just don't understand. She should concentrate on her education."
They came to her house and stopped.
"Calera, she will eventually come to her senses. The world is big and dangerous and she is young."
They both smiled and Calera nodded. Her eyes lit up as she remembered something. She went inside and came out with a small leather bag.
"Your payment for this week."
Rinkemen said his thanks and left Calera to attend to her house work.

He came to the door of the King's Arms and stepped inside to see the usual suspects. He grinned. He liked this place, cosy and friendly apart from the odd person who sat in the corners. He walked to the bar took out his wages and bought a large ale. He then sat a small table, pulled out his pipe and began to relax.

Radiel sighed. She thought she was old enough. She had been living in Minas Tirith for sixteen years, her entire life. She knew that now was her time to see the world. Of course, that was something she had been saying, pretty much since she could talk, but that didn't hinder her from trying to get away.

As they approached the house, the two heard a call from within. "Radiel!" It did not sound as a greeting, nor as a threat. The voice they heard sounded disappointed, yet not surprised. As they came closer, they met with Radiel's mother. "Radiel," she said. "Oh, good day, Rowen, nice too see you." She said, smiling at Radiel's friend, then turning back to Radiel. "Radiel..." She began again. Radiel frowned, but Calera continued. "I ran into Rinkemen, not long ago." Radiel looked at the ground; she knew what her mother was going to say. "Radiel, we have discussed this many times, you must stop the day-dreaming! Focus on your studies, for once!" Radiel sighed. "I'm sorry, mother." She said. "I... I will." Calera looked at her with distrust, but nodded and said: "I sent Raliar and Ceiveth down to the well; however, they have been gone for long. Will you go collect them?" Radiel nodded. Her mother gave them both a smile and then disappeared into the house.

Radiel, trying to forget what her mother had said about her behaviour during her lessons, turned to Rowen. "Will you help me find my brother and sister? I'm sure they'll be anywhere else, than at the well."

For Borum it was a grat day, the people of minas tirith seemed to buy everything from weapons & armours to every single decoration object, Borum had been selling the products all the time and arguing about the price of his people`s work with merchants, but everyone was happy in the end.

Borum sighed tired and was going to head to the next customer until his cousin intefered.

"Look Borum ya have don enough already and haven`t had a break... go on and drink a beer or something... few credits here or there won`t matter...."

Normally Borum would have been furious, but under these circumstances he agreed and left the opening with a pipe that he he had bought from the shire, it was quite well made, but he always said that dwarwes would make better if they did make any (of course in a friendly way). He walked down the road to a not that busy opening with a well on it and sat on the well, he began to burn his pipe and looked around with a relaxed smile as he blew smoke clouds in the air....

"Bah.... few profits is worse enough already... that no good fool will sell them in a bad price for us...for me!"

He muttered to himself as he admired the craftmanship that the city was made with.

Rowen rolled her eyes.
"They're probably off with the twins. They left the house about the same time I did." Her eleven year old brothers, Arian and Lewin, were nearly always in trouble, and often dragged other children along with them.
As they walked through the streets towards the well, Rowen remembered her wish to visit the archives. She resolved to stop by on her way home that evening.

Liran walked down the hard packed dirt road leading through the village's out-lying houses. Those who saw him looked at him suspiciously, a stranger in a black cloak was rarely welcome.

Upon arriving in the village square, he looked around him. The houses were neatly painted, in white or light grey, the roofs covered in thatch, newly repaired after the winter's damages. One somewhat larger building had a sign hanging in front of the door, this was the village inn. Taking a deep breath, he climbed up the few steps and walked through the open door.

Blinking a bit to get used to the darkness inside, he nudged the little bell hanging by the door with his staff. Smiling at the sweet tinkling sound, he leaned against one of the tables on the other side of the common room near the fireplace, removed the flute case slung around his back and put it beside him. Holding his hands out to warm them, he started into the fire for a while... Upon hearing footsteps coming from the next room, he stood up and propped his staff against the wall. The innkeeper walked in, eyed him up and down, and nodded,

"is there anything I can do for you, sir?"
Liran bowed,
"You can call me Alyan, you might remember me, I came here last autumn, and.."

He took the case from the table and pulled out his flute. After checking the smooth silver to see it was undamaged, a reflex, he played a couple notes of a cheerful tune. He had heard a musician play this one once in Dol Amroth when he was a child.. a song from the halflings in the north, the man had said. The innkeeper smiled widely and he nodded vigorously

"why yes! of course I remember, how could one forget!"
Liran smiled modestly and set the flute on the table again.
"Will you be staying with us for a while? I'm sure all would love to hear your playing again, master Alyan"
"If I can be given food and shelter, yes" Liran replied.
"Why certainly, we have empty rooms, and we would be delighted for you to stay with here. Infact, we only have one other visitor at the moment, a strange fellow. I don't trust him, but his money's good.." the innkeeper shrugged.
"Would you show me a room?" Liran asked, gathering his belongings "I could use some rest.."
"Of course"

The innkeeper walked out into the hallway, and Liran followed him to a small room with simple furniture and a window to the square he had left not long ago. Closing the door behind him, he unclasped his cloak and flung it over the back of a chair, hung his flute from a peg on the wall, propped his staff in easy reach of the bed and lay down, looking at the ceiling... He'd sleep a few hours, and the innkeeper having invariably informed everyone of his presence, there would be a large number of people come to dance.. He yawned and closed his eyes.. sleep came quickly.

Radiel chuckled. After a little distance of walking and a good talk, the two arrived at the second level. Then after another two-hundred yards walk, they came to the well and met with a rare sight. Her siblings were not to be seen, but a dwarf was sitting on the well! It was not the first time Radiel had seen a dwarf, but she was surprised nonetheless, not to mention curious.

She turned her attention to the surroundings. "Well..." she said, looking around. "They're not here." She glanced at Rowen, then before thinking further about it, she headed toward his direction.

"Excuse me, master dwarf." She said. "My friend and I are looking for our siblings. Four children, possibly more though. A girl at the age of seven and three older boys. Around the age of twelve. Might you have seen them?"
