Arvalin glanced down at the maiden's hand, offered in some sort of welcome, he supposed. After a brief hesitation, he gently clasped her hand before releasing it, somewhat reluctantly. Physical contact was something of a rarity...Not that he never touched anyone, that could be nearly impossible in a place such as Imladris. It was just that an actually intended touch, a welcoming perception was unexpected, to say the least. Or rather, a touch without the recoil.
"Arvalin," he murmured lightly. His eyes dropped to find hers, mentally shying away. He was being careless, to his mind.

Cora came to stand once again, her gaze drifting over the garden then resting upon the youth as she approached him. She hesitated speaking, not wanting to break into the glorious sounds of the day; the sweet melody of birds and the gentle hushing of the wind. Motioning ever slightly with her hands, she questioned in silence if the boy wished to returned. Already she knew he would not wish to return, but perhaps he must. She smiled gently as she offered her arm again for the frail youth to use as support. He reminded her of a pale iris flower, fair, thin, the petals of the most delicate yet most beautiful form, that would scorch if left to stand alone unaided under the rays of a constant sun, needing care and gentle handling.

[ I just watched Red Eye. o.O....]
Her eyes fixed on his, boring into his soul it seemed by the intense confidence she held, not daring to look away. Determined. She was surprised when she thought he felt a little taken aback. After shaking his hand, she clasped her wrist with one hand behind her back, she leaned forward coyly, arching a brow as she scanned the scroll in his other hand. Eilwynn spent hours in that library..but this paticular parchment remained astonishingly foreign to her; not that she could recognize the blank side of each, but she had an internal feeling that she needed to look at it. Just to be sure...
" You found what you were looking for, I assume." She inquired, intending it more to be a question than a conversation starter.
She lightly swiped away the curling tendrils of silky hair that blew into her face gently, amber optics finding his once more. Meanwhile..the pain seethed..

He looked down at the scroll, surprised. He had forgotten about it. Hesitantly, he held it out to her, noting her curiousity. And, since this was not the document he needed, he shouldn't need to worry about her seeing it. "Not exactly..." he said softly.
He was tempted to brush away the stubborn straying hairs that flashed in front of her eyes, which now came to meet his. There was pain, scarcely hidden beneath the surface. Which should have been obvious to begin with; she was plainly injured, with what wound he did not know.

Aarisynta's head lifted at Cora's gentle urging. Wordless, to keep the sacred silence in this natural place. To awaken one's voice from the throat would feel little less than blasphemous. Sinful.
Ah, no, he could not part his lips to let out his voice. Not in this beautiful place.
He could hear other voices, although...perhaps they would be forgiven.
The iris fluttered in the wind, soft silver hair blown across his face to play along slender delicate cheekbones.
He wrapped fingers around the offered arm, only because he had to, letting go of the rose finally before he closed his eyes and just...lingered. Still, not even letting the strong winds disturb his petals.
It was only after a long silence that he whispered,
"Perhaps it is best...if I leave."

Cora nodded gently, not wishing to break the soft silence, or to have her voice so contrast that of the one whispered. She almost feared the wind would blow away such a frail youth, and her heart went out to him, for she was compassionate, though a hardness of years could be seen in the depths of her green eyes, softened only by the care she had for the young and the frail.
She gently, carefully, as though afraid to break the fragile Iris flower, lead the youth down the narrow path and through the roses, still swaying gently in the wind upon their stems. The wind played with the loose strands of her dark hair, framing her gently aged elven face, her skin fair yet not untouched by her traveled years under sun and moon.

Eilwynn nodded absently, quietly observing the scroll. She could no longer play coy, much less make small talk. The pain and the curiousity mixed together made for a nasty motivation for bluntness. Somehow, however, she had a feeling he would not mind, seeing as how it was not what he was searching for to begin with.
" Do you mind, then?" She let a smile creep 'cross her lips as she gestured to the scroll politely.
From the corner of her eyes, she could see the youthful Elf and she-Elf standing to leave.

Arvalin shook his head and shrugged. "Feel free." Curiously, he glanced over her head to the other two Elves, preparing to leave the garden. After a moment, he gazed again at this girl, again noticing the pain in her eyes and remembering that she had walked with a limp.
Somewhat cautiously, he asked, "Do you need to sit down?"

Quietly, he walked between the flowers, back up toward the library.
Head bowed to hide his face again, the veil of silvery hair obscuring his skin again.
At this moment, he felt a lot more like the iris flower than he would wish to; watching it falter in the winds...

When they had finally reached the doorway of the library, Cora paused, finally, though hesitantly, breaking the silence. "I have not asked your name... though I have given mine, I would give it again if you wish," she smiled gently as she spoke, her green eyes soft as the turned to glance upon the youth.

"Cora, am I correct?" he asked of her before pushing his hair back.
"Thank you...thank you for your kindness to me."
That smile was a painful one to manage, although sincere as he brought himself to look up, to tilt his head up and meet her eyes.
"I...appreciate it."
His hands ceased wringing together as the boy held himself still, fingers curling about the banister for the balcony.
"...and...my name is Aarisynta..."

Cora smiled gently. "Yes indeed, you are correct, young friend. And there is no need to express your thanks to me, for it was merely a simple act which I have done among the many others do."
Her eyes glanced over the frail youth, then met his eyes with a gentle, yet almost worried gaze, her smile still lingering. "Aarisynta..." she spoke the name quietly, then the smile again graced her features. "A pleasent name, and well matching... I pray this has not been too stressful for you...?"

Eilwynn bit her lower lip, simply shaking her head in responce to Arvalin's question, her whole attention absorbed in the scroll. If she were to sit down she would not want to stand again, and she still had to trek back her bed.
She released a long-held sigh, crimson optics narrowing as she inwardly cursed the scroll, accepting defeat. The parchment was not at all what she had hoped it was, but it was just as much as she could expect. Gently rolling it, she gazed back up at Arvalin.
" Thank you."

He shrugged off her thanks, looking away from her eyes, which seemed defeated although still, always, in pain. Clearly, she either had or should see a healer. But having already mentioned it once, he did not feel it was his place to bring it up again. So he shoved the thought to the very corner of his mind, and instead concentrated on the scroll.
"It isn't what I had hoped it would be. I was...mistaken," he said by way of explanation.

[ I thought your character was supposed to be mean?]
Eilwynn looked back at him, though his eyes were fixing off elsewhere. She wondered...
" What were you looking for, if it's not to bold to ask?"

-Yesssss. Most the time he is. But the real question is whether he is that way by nature, or whether circumstance has made him that way. He's on self-discovery, luv.-
"It was nothing, really," he murmured darkly. His eyes swept past her to view the bench where the two Elves had been before. Obviously, the boy was weak, he was sickly pale. And of course, the weak held back the strong, as they always had and probably always would. But if the she-Elf chose to be held back, then it was not his concern.
